SG1,

Easiest/quickest way for me to find a problem is to have your DVDXML file and your BaseRCC file. Email me both of these, and I should be able to let you know whats up rather quickly.

3B..

Yahoo! We have a go!! After making the changes as you suggested, it worked like a charm with the new V2.4 DVDXML file. Thank you.

However, the restored DPV2.5 databse in V2.4 still produce an export file (DVDXML) that chokes your software, the program terminates with a runtime error 13. Which, I think is because of your 24 discs limit. If you take a look at the screen shoot I sent you, it loaded 24 discs and then error'ed out.

Can you confirm that this is the case? I really don't want to enter in 200 discs

thanks

Trouble is... not relly sure what your asking for or how to send it. Sure' ol' Dave can do the basic programs on the mx, but I'm trying to learn more about these remotes. Never did a Pronto. Can progran a Sony RM-AV 3000 with ease. The MX 3000 is new to me. I only just got this one days ago for attending a class. I get it all soon.

Ed,

No, the 24 Disc limit will not make it crash, it just simply stops after reading in 24 Discs. Send me your new 2.4 DVDXML and I will see what the problem is now.

SG1,

If you followed along with the quickstart quide, you should have created a DVDXML file from DVD Profiler collection, and then you should have also created a BaseRCC file that would be your complete remote configuration minus the Movies. If you can just email those two two files, I will be able to tell you what your problem is.

3B,
I got what went wrong. I have a few things to do here. I tried to do this without a multi player. I gave away my Sony 400 disc player because it never lived up to what I expected it to do. This changes everything. I wanted to set up a dummy system to see if this was worth me buying. It seems that it is. I'll make corrections tonight and email you later. The boss, (Mrs. Perry), is waiting to go to dinner. I'll be back.

Ed,

It appears the 2.5 backup to 2.4 is still introducing a few problems. Here is the issue, in 2.4 there was no way NOT to enter a Purchase Date, after reading the update notes to 2.5, you have the ability to clear the purchase date so as to not enter anything. My software could not compare dates to determine what movies should be listed in the New Purchases listing if there was no date available.

I have fixed this problem, and it will be available when DP 2.5 comes out of beta. I wouldnt recommend NOT entering a Purchase Date however since this will make the New Purchases listing useless.

I coded around the date issue, and didnt see any other problems with loading your file, so if you just update the purchase dates you should be set. (These dont have to be accurate, just valid dates)

3B,

Now that we've got things working under DP V2.4, If I may go back a step and ask that if the "purchase dates" were entered into DP V2.5b, would the exported file (DVDXML) work?

thanks

No, It wasnt the purchase dates that were causing your problem in the first place in the 2.5 XML. There also more new features in 2.5 that will not work correctly with the 2.4 release. Nothing major, and all new features have been addressed in DMX-3000, so the software will be ready when 2.5 is current.

The purchase date issue was just an odd side effect from taking a 2.5 collection back to 2.4

Sent you an e-mail with the proper attachments this morning. With the purchased version, I am again experiencing VB errors when the program loads the DVDXML file.

thanks

@ EVERYONE: I definitely dont mind this all getting posted to the Forums, at least then others can see that I do try to help and in a timely matter, but in the interest of not cluttering up the forum with issues like this, you can just email me at my support address. If the problem is one that is worthy of being put on the forums for others to be made aware of it will be.

@ Ed:
In your new file, you still are just missing a purchase date on "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Fix that one and all should be well.
