Bracken, how is the CD development going? Is a relase expected in the next few months, or should I start to try to manually migrate my old pronto file?

Guys,
Survey time, I need to just stop looking and decide on a CD Databasing software that will allow export of the information required for creating the MX-3000 listing.
I would like to get suggestions from everyone, and then as a group we can decide on one and I will code around it. I am frustrated as I havent been able to find one that is comparable to DVD Profiler.
I could just include the databasing support directly in DMX-3000, but it will then require the user to enter all CD information manually, including the CD Cover Art if graphical support is to be used.
So suggestions ???

Do you have any updates yet?
I would love to be able to add new movies without having to start over and add all the extra hops, skips, and jumps that I need to, since I'm using my own graphics for the home and genre pages. I would also love the password function for any movies above a set rating as you suggested about 6 months ago. I'v tried to use the Sony DVD changer to do this for me, but it doesn't work well. Half the time it stops the G rated movie and then lets the R rated ones go.

I am not sure what you mean by extra hops, skips and jumps to adding movies. Are you saying that you cant add new movies to your setup at the moment? There should be no reason for this. If you are using custom graphics, they have to be of the same size dimensionally as the originals but just replace the files provided in the DMX-3000\Images directory and those will be used the next time you run DMX-3000 instead of the original images.
As for the password functionality. when this was originally brought up, while it was still in discussion and before any actual development was done, I was informed of the changers having this ability built in, so it was removed from my "To-Do" list before it was ever actually added.
If you are having problems adding movies, please email me with more information regarding the issue and we will get it taken care of as quickly as possible.

John,
I have replied to your email twice now, obviously they are not getting through to you. Do you have another account you can email me from, I will then reply to that address.
Regards, -3B

Bracken, Hope all has been well with you. Regarding the CD support for DMX-3000; have you checked out this website [Link: readerware.com] ? I have glanced at it briefy and it seems to pull all the neccesary information. Not being a programmer I have no idea if this is a useful format to you or not. Hopefully this will help if not I would be happy to give my two cents when you start coding for the CD functionality. Take care. On December 17, 2005 at 20:17, triple B said...

Thank you very much, I am just glad we finally got everything straightened out.
I have already looked at these programs, what I was hoping to do was get some feedback from the users of DMX-3000 as to which they would prefer to see me use as I have no preference. While searching for one, none of them just stood out as the clear winner.

Hi, My Name is Bracken Baker
I have finished a program I have been working on for some time now, which will create a Graphical DVD Listing of the discs in your changer, each being a single button to load that disc. This came about after the first time I sat down and started to create this layout manually, and realized that even when I was done, it was going to be a nightmare to go back and add new discs to the middle of my list. So I started work on this program. Which I have called "DMX-3000" or Disc Manager eXtreme.
It is still in beta but has been tested thoroughly and I am ready to see what others think of my work. Keep in mind this is my first Programmable Universal Remote so there might be better ways for layout, and that is what I am wanting from others.
If you already have your DVD Collection in "DVD Profiler", you are a but dozen mouse clicks away from having your entire collection selectable from your MX-3000. If you arent currently using DVD Profiler I highly recommend it, it is an excellent application. Not only is it completely FREE, but all you have to do is type the UPC of each DVD in your collection and it does the rest, Cover Art, Title, Genres, Complete Actors List, etc. etc.
Once you have your collection entered, my program will take its exported database file, and your current Remocon (RCC) file, and create a Device with a graphical, alphabetical Listing of all your movies. There will be a little initial setup for each changer you have in order to set its correct IR codes, but that is a one time setup.
I am currently working on putting this up to a website, but for the time being I would still like to get it out there and see if anyone else can use and enjoy it.
Either reply here or E-mail me if you would like to test it out. TripleB (at) cox-internet (dot) com
