Re: Collection software to use (per your recent question)
3B - No real preference, but I think you've got a winner with DVD Profiler. I bought Movie Collector from collectorz.com a while back and have been using it (mentioned by MicroTHX above), but what I've noticed in loading discs into Profiler is that IT (Profiler) is getting it right as far as the details (# of discs, type of discs-dual sided, etc). That's pretty important to me as you can imagine from my previous post, and I'm realizing that my list I was working from out of Movie Collector was garbage!!! Stick with what you know and what everyone to date is using--DVD Profiler.

I agree 100%, I absolutely love DVD Profiler, the amount of information you get and the ease with which you can get it are the best I have found. My question was referring to CD cataloging software. I have been unsuccessful in finding CD software to match DVD Profiler. I would like to discuss Music Collector from collectorz.com. This seems to be the most popular when I have asked the last few times. If any of you that are planning on using the CD section of DMX-3000, wouldnt mind downloading and installing it, I would like to get a few opinions from others on what they think of the software. It is a free download which allows for up to 100 CD's before purchasing, so anyone can get it and help out. I want to make sure it covers everything we need before choosing it. Download Link: [Link: collectorz.com]Please send me an email if you would like to discuss this further and help with the CD addition to DMX-3000. -3B

3-B I was having problems with my PC, so I had to tranfer everything to my laptop. My DVD Pro transfered, but my DMX won't. I don't have to get a new one do I?

I have had only two emails in response to my CD support question. I dont mind adding CD functionality, but will need some direction from those of you that actually plan on using it, or at the very least, have some input on the matter.

Looks good to me. It looks to have more than I would every use. I've used your multi-disc graphic elements from DMX to manually create links to all my Cd's. I'm not an avid CD collector as I do with DVDs but I do have my favorites and they are in and working. With my collection as small as it is and as I have an intimate knowledge of them I NEED only the Group and Title on each link. Not to say It wouldn't be great to have the cover art eventually.
I'd be willing to help you out again as you get going. Just let me know as before.

To add to Bailey's wishes, I need to have track listings too, but nothing more (i.e. Artist name, Album title, Album covert art, and each track as an individual button).

*** CD UPDATE INFO ***
This is what will be made available in the CD section of DMX-3000. An alphabetical, graphical (Cover Art) listing of albums sorted by Artist then by Album Title. From this, you will have two options (similar to the current DVD setup)
A) Select the Cover Art and it loads the correct disc.
B) Select the Cover Art and it jumps to a "text only" track listing. This page will have a single play button to load the correct disc.
Both of the above options will also have the same multi-disc pages as the DVDs should the albums span multiple discs.
There "might" also be an option to sort by release year instead of album title. This way you would see an artists listing of albums in chronological order as opposed to alphabetical.
Thoughts ??

Hey Bracken, I'm a new MX3000 owner, and am slowly learning it's functionality. I'm really happy that you've created this DVD program that works with the DVD profiler...I have all my DVD's on profiler, and downloaded your free trial to see how it all works. I'm unable to mesh the two together...I'm keeping my profiler and your program on my desktop and have not been able to get them to work...any thoughts? As for your CD program...I would buy in a heartbeat...I have so many CD's and would love to have a way to scroll though my library on my MX and play all one touch. Im currently using a DVD multichanger....and am in the process of storing all my CD's on my BOSE 48 system....how easy is the funtionality for all of these?
Thanks in advance, Carp

Bracken: As always this sounds like a great up-date, I do not keep any CD's in my changer since they all reside in my Ipod now but if this update comes about I might keep a few in there that I want to play all the time (not to mentiopn my SACD/DTS ones).
That being said, I think going to track listing page then loading from there sounds like the way to go. THere are times when I am looking for a particular song but can not remember what album it might be on, so if the CD page went to a track list I could see if the song I was looking for was there or on another CD/.

Carp,
Did you follow the Quickstart?
Re-Cap:
Make sure you entered Location and Slot information for all your movies in DVD Profiler. Make sure you prep'd your RCC file with the Import Header and now use it as a basefile.
If you have done this, and are still having problems, I will need you to give more detail as to where or what problem you are having. I will try to get it taken care of as quickly as possible.
Best Regards, -3B

Bracken,
Re CDs; is it difficult, or memory greedy, to have the track listing produced as individual buttons? While waiting for the update I presently control my CD collection with an old Marantz RC9200 running SuperNudeList, which gives me control on single track level. i find this extremely convenient!

Hey Bracken, I just wanted to say thank you for the above and beyond support you provided to me. I also have to give you kudos for an excellent software product. I believe the software is a good value. Especially considering the fact that it literally saved me untold ours at the computer importing my DVD collection. I loaded and imported 138 DVDs and 40 special features in way under 2 hours. Not to mention the fact that this software gives my remote a high degree of functionality for selecting my DVDs. Even if at first it seemed to me to be a little expensive.
I found that adding a new DVD to my collection was very fast. I think it took longer to fire up and log into my PC LOL.
Note to those standing on the fence and contemplating purchase. Yes it is worth the money and he can get you back on track when you don't follow instructions, he did it for me repeatedly.
Thanks again Ken
PS: Bracken, I hope that when you update your software you will send out an email to all the people that purchased your software for feedback on improvements.
