Bracken, in case your still checking in. I hope your doing alright!
This thread hit a somber note and seems like it got a little quiet. I hope I'm not out of line by encouraging ongoing discussion until your ready to resume. I know there is a strong following here with a lot of knowledge. For any of you new users I'm sure there are still plenty of answers that can be gotten here.

Here’s one, and forgive me if it has been covered in any detail somewhere in this thread. Anyone have a hard time selling the idea of this remote to his wife? Later to find them using it all the time, being lost without it, or even showing it off to her girlfriends. Any good stories?

Well folks, I want to take full blame at this point for the delay in DMX3000. Bracken was all ready to resume development on the project when I approached him to do some work for URC. Bracken's been too polite to tell everyone whose fault the delay is, so I'll be a stand-up guy and admit the truth: it's me.

However, anyone who's familiar with URC's Installer Site is already familiar with the excellent work Bracken has been doing for us.

I'll do my best not to eat up all of his free time. Believe me, I'm eager for the DMX update as well.

Sincerely,
Dale

Hey guys, Im still around. Things got very hectic lately, and im sorry for not checking in. I have still been checking my email regularly and replying just as quickly as always.

Tom, you are definitely not out of line, keep the conversation flowing as long as possible ;)

As Dale was kind enough to point out, I havent been slacking, just havent had much time to work on DMX-3000. I will resume work on DMX-3000 just as soon as possible.

"Thank you" to everyone for your understanding.

Best Regards,

metfoo,

Not sure I follow you, what do you mean on "parallels"?

www.parallels.com

Parallels is a x86 virtualization application. It allows you to use the VT-X enabled intel cpus, and virtualize your hardware to run a second OS at near native speeds. It is not an emulation like virtual PC. All other apps I have run in it work great, DMX though generates an error while the splash screen says getting options

Ahh, very cool.
About the only thing that is happening during that time, is reading from the registry for simple settings and authentication of the software, which very well might cause problems. The software was never tested on such a setup.

I will help in anyway possible, but dont have a mac to test with. Hopefully someone else has run the software in this configuration and can shed some light.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do on my end.

Not yet, I will email you as soon as I get a chance to look at the software on a parallels setup. Still working on getting my hands on one. Once I have, as I said in the email, I will send you a couple files to test with.

Thanks, as soon as I get the time to finish work on the CD section, I will be looking for a couple people to help test the new features.

It will be some time from now, I am still trying to finish up some new additions on this URC project and then I will once again be able to work on DMX.

Thanks for your willingness to help, and I appreciate everyone's patience.

I wonder if this only works on the MX3000, or if it could be edited to work on the ipronto. I know it is a different platform. What do you think?

Unfortunately not, there would be no easy way of using any part of an MX-3000 file on an iPronto. Aside from just using the graphics (which are smaller than desired for the iPronto) there would be very little you would gain by starting with an RCC file as opposed to just starting from scratch.

As of now, the only other remote line I have looked at seriously was RTI, but since it is a protected line and an end-user "cant" buy the remote and software to program it with, that one was finished before it even got started.
