Daniel and Roadster,
Thanks for the info, I was afraid of that. Do remapped keys, and advanced codes count in the 25-30 or, or just the functions the remote has to learn from another remote? Also, if I do the 980 "thing" will it clear all memory, including the advanced codes?
Thanks
Nick

Anyone know the Proscan (RCA 0047) TV discrete code for the "OK" button, the one that sits in the middle of the four directional buttons (up, down, left, right)?

On the 15-1994, the button sitting in the middle of
the four directional buttons is named "Select", yet
for some reason, it doesn't produce the "OK" code.

I guess I could probably "learn" the button, but a
discrete code would be nice. I've alreadly looked at

Any suggestions?

Well, I just went out and bought the 1994 6 weeks after buying the 1935 (same as 1995). The 1935 would not switch the mode on my reciever to DVD. It is just not possible. I am stoked with this remote!! My only question is, will it operate my WEBTV? I called the "help line" when i had the 1935, and they gave me a code to try, but it didn't work. I've since lost the code, and was put on hold for too long the past two times i tried the help line. If any one has any helpful info., it would be greatly appreciated. If it is possible, i'll need to know which button would be best to assign it to since my reciever is on "aux 1" and my dvd is on "aux 2". Oh yea, THANX to everyone for all the great info you posted. It has already helped big time.

Marcus,

The One for All Cinema 7 IQ (URC-7800) manual states that the Sony WEB TV is considered a Video Accessory and is controlled under the 'CBL/SAT' Key. The Setup Code is 0850.

If this does not work, try the Code Search method via the 9-9-1 command.

Let me know how you do.

(Time Delay for Surround tuner)
I've perused the threads (to a degree) I have a surround amp that I cannot get to turn on, When I turn it on using the normal "learned" button it takes about 1 to 1-1/2 seconds to operate. I've tried a Macro actuating the button multiple times, I doesn't seem to work, seems to turn off and on rather than be a single signal with enough time to actuate the function. Has anyone had the same problems and does anyone have a solution? Great list! Great Remote!

This forum is great! Thanks to all the super contributors.
I bought my RS 1994 today and ALMOST everything entered easily. I have a a Sony TV, a sSony VCR, a Pioneer CD, a Toshiba DVD, and an HK receiver, plus X-10 stuff i haven't hooked up yet. My two weak points are oriented to my receiver, the HK AVR-75. My entire system runs thru this receiver, so 1) I HAVE to be able to punch-thru volume to the receiver and cannot get it to work and 2) I have separate selection modes on the receiver for Digital Dolby, surround sound, and stereo modes and also need to be able to switch audio input lines from coax, to tv to optical depending on whether my source audio source is cable, DSS, or DVD. Can anyone help me make these two things work.

I love the remote and this forum. Thank you all ahead of time for the assistance!
/s/ Floyd
P.S. I'm a novice so be as simple with the instructions as possible. Thanks

GREG,

First of all, i want to thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. Now as for my WEBTV, it's a Phillips Magnavox. I don't know if that made a difference, but I proceeded any ways. The first obsticle I came to was the fact that my CBL/SAT button is used for my cable box, which i use when watching TV. I figured I could transfer the CBL/SAT to the VCR button, since i retired the VCR to the bedroom. I thought the remote wold just think I had 2 cable boxes. I then tried to enter the [0850] code to the VCR button on the remote. No dice.
Well, take your pick as to what I did wrong. It just feels like somethings not right. I just hope you can give me some more suggestions after, and if, you can figure out what I did, did wrong, or both. All I know for sure, is that I'm with this remote until the wheels fall off. I love this stuff! Now, if I could only get better at it. Thanx in advance for any help, or comments.

I'm out of "learn" memory and have tried every method described in here to unlearn some keys to free up memory. None of them work...994, 976 etc.

Has anybody out there unlearned a key, freed up some memory and was able to learn another remote key in the freed up memory???

By the way...this is a GREAT thread...thanks for any help...

I have not purchased this remote yet but I am very interested. The only concern I have is are there codes for my projector (Sony vpl-w400q) or will I have to use the learning function. Also I own a krell(KRC-3) preamp and a Meridian cd player (508-24) again are there codes or do I have to use the learning function and will there be enough memory. The 15-1995 also looks good. Please let me know. Thanks.

The 15-1994 is on sale again for $29.99 reg. $39.99. If you're in the market, check out this incredible remote. At this price, there is nothing remotely (pun) similar in the features department. You can buy online at:

FYI - I own one and it's THE best Home Theater purchase I have made.

Marcus,

You are welcome. The Cinema 7 IQ says to use code 0818 for your Philips Magnavox WEB TV.

First of all, please make sure that you re-assigned your vcr device key to a cbl/sat.

1- hold down the p key until the led flashes twice.
2- 992
3- cbl/sat
4- vcr

That should do it.

Next, try to assign a device code to your newly defined device key.

1- vcr (which now is really a cbl/sat)
2- hold down the p key until the led flashes twice
3- enter the manufacturer code: 0818

If the manufaturer code was entered properly you should get two led flashes right after you enter it. If not, (or the remote does not have that manufacturer code) you will get on long flash on the led.

It is possible that the 15-1994 does not support your WEB-TV box. My 15-1994 does not support my Sherwood HT Receiver but the Cinema & IQ does.

I was vey happy with the 15-1994, however, I just bought the Cinema 7 IQ (model #URC-7800) to compare it and I am really impressed with it. It will support my Sherwood receiver which leaves me plenty of memory to learn any special keys that might be needed later. Don't count it out! Radio Shack has a 30 day refund policy.

Let me know how you do.

Greg

Greg,

It would not accept the code. Oh well, thanx for the help anyways. I still love this remote, and will just have to suck it up when using my "woos ass" webtv. Hopefully not for long, you see, my fiancee(sp?) just hit for 10 grand on a scratch ticket yesterday. I don't know weather to ask for a T.V., or a computer. Mabey, if I'm really good, I'll get both....... probably not, but I can still dream, can't I? Thanx again 4 your help. If you hear anything else, let me know. Oh yea, I'm giving my 15=1935 to my buddy tomorrow. Keep posting, it's people like you that make this thread so cool.

I remember reading in an earlier post that someone was looking for a way to disable the backlighting when you didn't need it. Well, I hope I am not repeating anyone, but I just happened to stumble on this by accident. If you don't need your backlighting and want to conserve battery juice do the following: when backlighting is lit, turn off using the "light bulb" button. You should now be able to press any key--except the light bulb--and the backlighting will not activate. To re-activate just turn on by pressing the light bulb button and let the self-timer deactivate the backlighting, then everytime you hit a key the backlighting will turn on. Simply as that!
