Steve, try the Carrollton Shack, 972-245-0948. I just checked and they have 2 in stock.

Kazik, thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to try that when I get home. That idea brings up a question:

Is there any "blank" manufacturer code? That is, is there any way to set a device to have NO pre-programmed codes? For those devices which have no known manufacturer, I'd like to wipe the device and do learning only.

Will the clear-device code work for this purpose?

I'm trying again. This idea is working only for macros not remapping. Sorry for my mistake. "Blank" code is not necessary. You can use every code accepted under a selected device (AUX1,2: Amplif. Tuner, Tape, CD...).

Peter, please check my other post so you'll know what happened. Short version is- thanks. As to punch through for varied equipment, I gave up on being exotic and just used my receiver remote to teach volume from my receiver volume on the devices I wanted to puunch through. Ran VCR wiring through the amp and used moniter for the pics, DVD programmed to use receiver volume, DSS for tv only but run through my receiver if I watch a movie. Same for TV. Put DSS in a shifted macro and I get punched thru when i need it. Sorry if this stated the obvious but there seems to be a good bit of learning room. I can think of at least 18 learned functions I use as well as some advanced (can't remember how many) and still put in 8 macros of 8-15 commands long. I'm still looking for things to put in. Amazing now that I know what goes where. More so since I am running 6 pieces of gear. Thanks again.

Kazik: The problem is, I can't seem to remap keys which have been learned. So when I learn my receivers VOL+/- keys, I can't use the remap command to use the receiver's volume controls on all my other devices. I have to learn the volume controls under each device.

I wouldn't care, except I need the learning space for Tivo...

Peter,

Forgive me if I'm missing something - I only quickly scanned your recent responses....

If I understand correctly, you are having trouble remapping volume keys for your receiver to achieve a punch-through effect. You shouldn't have a problem - provided you found a native device setting that supported the volumes keys in the first place. I believe you have found such, correct? If so, you can remap those keys to the volume for other devices. In one of your responses, it looked like you had a sequence error - which would explain why it wouldn't work. You were trying Aux2*P**9*9*4**Aux1*SURR*SURR. If my memory serves me, you need to instead enter Aux2*P**9*9*4**SURR*Aux1*SURR.

Hope I didn't confuse matters further,

Bob

Bob, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, that sequence doesn't work either. (I think that, in general, both sequences accomplish the same thing.)

To answer your question, no, I haven't found a native device setting that supports those keys -- I've had to have the 15-1994 learn them. And learned keys don't seem to be remapable.

Peter,
Instead remapping you can use simple Andrew’s macro. For example for VOL+ button:
P**995*VOL+*AUX1*VOL+*P**
This will work very close to remapping (small problem with the device mode), but you save lot of memory, and can use learning keys.

If anyone is interested, you can increase the backlite up to 10 seconds. Press the program "P" key and you'll have 10 seconds of lite. By pressing any other key you get 5 seconds. Just thought some of you might be interested in this.

Billy-

Just remember that if you have any "shifted" functions that this will engage them - might surprise the unsuspecting!

Has anyone else tried Andrew Majosi's 2/1 workaround for the fact that you can't remap a receiver's "learned" vol +/- controls? To try it I'm going to have to *980* to a clear slate again, but if it works it seems it would save a LOT of memory ...

I just got the 15-1994 and im new to this thread. I have programmed all the functions I need and now I wan to program an all-on, all-off macro to the power key. The problem is, my proscan VCR uses one key for power-on and another for power-off. on the proscan remote, VCR1 turned power on, then Power while in VCR1 mode turned it off. is it possibe to have the power key on the 15-1994 turn all on and off with just that one key? thanks.

Excellent forum. Kudos to Daniel, Andre, Kazik, and all who have contributed. An example of exactly how the internet has changed the world.

New user of 15-1994 trying to create macro for home theater. Anyone know the advance codes for Panasonic Superflat TV's? Regular Panasonic TV codes might also work. Am looking for direct code for Video 1, Video 2, and Video 3. Thanks.

Hi all,
Just got the RS remote, really like it, but I do have a question. I have two macros set up, stacked thanks to the advice here, I want to set up two more but half way through the input, I get a long lite blink. Am I out of memory, or did I do something wrong? Let me know how you can tell when all your memory is used up.
Thanks
Nick

I know the answer is already in this thread, but I regret it's too long for me to find....

How many codes can this remote "learn" from another before it's full?
