If I don't have the advanced codes listed on my site, the quickest and easiest way to get them is to call the Radio Shack hot line on 800-763-9232 (say that you have a 15-1994 remote, when they ask), and have them email the codes to you. When you get them, please forward them to me and I'll add them to my site.

I bought one of these 2 days ago and it has replaced
5 remotes for me:

Sony Satellite Directv
Kenwood VR-309 audio receiver
Sony 35" TV
Sony SLV-575 VCR
RCA DVD

| I did have to teach the codes manually
for the Kenwood VR-309 but when I was done I had
a much easier to use remote than the Kenwood remote.

Can you e-mail me the VR-309 code. Please!

Chris, this is just speculation on my part, but as Greg wrote that post nearly FOUR years ago, chances are good that he's not monitoring this thread anymore.

Just FYI, there isn't a code for the VR-309 in the 15-1994. Some older remotes use the 0313 and 0314 codes and newer remotes use the 1313 code.

Tom,
I would recommend that you post your question in it's own thread, rather than risk having the answer buried in this old 24 page thread.

Hello to all and thanks for any help you can give
me. I have a 15.1994 and the light stays on all
the time now!!!! Battery life is about 1 1/2 days!!!
Backlighting is nice but i could do without that!
Anyway i have taken remote apart and button looks
ok only thing i can think of is a short somewhere.
Screws holding bottom half of the pcb are glued
so i have not looked in that area yet. Anyone
know if there is a way to get that glue off so
i can get to the screws? If not i really do not
need backlight any suggestions on how to cut the
lights out completely? Thanks!!

The screws on the pcb aren't really glued, the coating can be easily scratched off and will release easily when you turn the screws. Once you remove the pcb, you will have access to the thin film "light" which can be removed and replaced without damaging anything. I don't know if removing it will solve the battery drain, but it will cut the lights out completely.

There goes another answer that will get totally buried in this thread where it will do no good at all.
