Ii is supposed to be in the 90's today here, I think some of our inland desert friends should be seeing temps in the triple digits for what any of that is worth...

Good thing... You would be dissapointed to find that
Barrington, IL (listed in the profile) is not in Colorado.
There, now I am a smart ass too...

HA! I have to laugh at myself on this one. I had him confused w/ someone else. He does appear to be in IL after all. I have to fly through Chicago, but definitely no time for a pow-wow w/ Owen.
How hard can this be?

O.K.

Regan, in my opinion the 2nd best president in the history
of the USA.

I thought you wanted to stick to the topic of Global Warming???

History will show that GW is/was a good president.

You gotta be kidding me!!!

imagine if the press loved him like they loved that rapist bill clinton.

The economy didn't do too badly when Clinton was in... Kennedy had affairs as well.

Carter the worst followed by clinton then nixon in my opinion.

I disagree.

He started his presidency with one of the biggest deficeits
in history.

Yep

If you had to go home to Hillary, you tell me you would
not have been looking for action on the side??

OT but I agree. He (Clinton) should have faced America and said that. 180 million American men would have understodd. It would have also dispelled some of the shadyness surrounding him.

Clinton passed educatioon bills that gave me the opportunity
to go to college, so I might be a bit biased. I tried
when the older Bush was in charge, but I could not get
work to pay for school and I could not quailfy for any
loans.

Not sure of your age but in the late 80's early 90's, there was quite a bit of money for those going top school. Many of those programs still exist today.

Is it getting warm yet??

Ah well, if he pissed you off than that changes everything. Of course it's OK then to tell him FU. My bad.

2R: I disagree, I think this kind of unadultered open
debate atracts thinking people.

You mean like shouting out "FU" because "he pissed me off"? Well, as long as you were thinking when you said it...

More disruptive weather patterns are a sign of global warming.

[Link: usatoday.com]

Katrina, 144 tornadoes just this weekend, drought in Australia, shrinking glaciers....these are empirical evidence something is happening to our globe.

And to note there were other warming trends in the past but to omit the one variable never included before which is human activity and pollution is disingenuous at best.

Oh...Reagan sucked....big time. I agree with Bill Maher the love righties lavish on him seems a bit gay.

Not an english major, are you;>)

I remember the first Bush proclaiming in 1988,
"I will be the Education President."
"I will be the Environmental President"
And then did nothing. Stuck a wet finger up in the air to make decisions.

I voted for Clinton in '92 who then proceeded to stick HIS finger up in the air, and other places.

I like the fact that this Bush can make decisions without looking at the latest USA Today poll.

That's why he's called "THE DECIDER"

Where does he say that? He doesn't.

"You can go outside and spit and have the same effect as doubling carbon dioxide."

Sounds to me like he's saying it's absurd.

What you didn't point out is that the article appears in the Wisconsin Energy Cooperative News, funded be the electric generating industry.
Doesn't mean he's biased but it should be pointed out.

What I haven't seen is anyone complaining about scientists on the other side being funded by environmental groups. Or pointing out that those groups get their donations from people who get scared by the reports scientists write with funding from those same groups.

I believe Monica used Cigars. Try to get your facts straight.

He's madder than a hatter and an idiot, but thank God he's "decisive". As far as spin goes, it's truly amazing how to this day people like to say "he can make decisions without looking at a poll". In spite of the fact that the white house has done 180's numerous times based on their constant monitoring of public opinion.

That's why he's called "THE DECIDER"

He's a decider alright. He decided 3000 American lives away in Iraq (YES, along with a bunch of gutless Republican's and Democrats that went along with him for fear of being called unpatriotic and YES, they ARE equally to blame).

No bias there I'm sure! LOL!!!

There are not screwing over the public making unprecendented profits off of oil profits either.
They need funding from somewhere.
Look at what the oil companies are doing right now.

Well when all of the major scientists of the world agree, that is something to be concerned sbout wouldn't you think?

Did you actually read the article?
I assumed(yah I know) you had but here is the entire quote,

"Well let me give you one fact first. In the first 30 feet of the atmosphere, on the average, outward radiation from the Earth, which is what CO2 is supposed to affect, how much [of the reflected energy] is absorbed by water vapor? In the first 30 feet, 80 percent, okay?
And how much is absorbed by carbon dioxide? Eight hundredths of one percent. One one-thousandth as important as water vapor. You can go outside and spit and have the same effect as doubling carbon dioxide."

BTW, why aren't you at work?

First thing I thought, doesn't anybody around here work??

I was not an English major, which should be apparent by now.

I am 38 years old and when I first went to college I was paying about $500 per month making near minimum wage living on my own. Pretty much a sinking ship. I applied for anything and everything I could.

A year or so after Clinton came along all of a sudden there was money that I had access to. Granted, I am still paying it off, but at least I was able to defer payments until I graduated.
When good enough is not good enough.
