WPXJ-DT  turned on their  transmitter around noon, kept their  transmitter on; much better reception for me.
WNYB-DT  turned on their  transmitter on around noon (assuming full power - no STAs filed), kept their  transmitter on; worse reception for me.

ION is coming in pretty good here in Brampton but WNYB 26 was a hit and miss for me often. I wish MeTV would move or give a stronger signal.

DITTO; but not interested in religious programming, so not concerned.

Yeah up to 2016-2017 WBBZ was 80% reliable, but something changed and only comes on now on hot humid nights. More power!

More of a height problem than a power problem. WBBZ's transmitter is only 217 feet above ground level.

I don't get it. Why not just put a higher Antenna. I know they are not allowed to pull more power then the FCC regulates but i cant see why they can replace the antenna with a much taller one. Is it against the rules as well?

A higher antenna (gives a higher antenna gain) with the same TPO (transmit power input) would equal a higher (ERP) output.
Even if a stronger signal is approved by the FCC and Industry Canada, not cause interference with any other station, what would be the financial gain?

The height gain, however, needs to be balanced against the feeder loss. At VHF and more so at UHF, the losses in the feeder become considerable, and in some instances may be more than the gain resulting from increased height. It is necessary to make a judgment call on this and obtain the best balance between gain from increased height, and increased loss from increased feeder length.

Money. Tall towers are not cheap.

An application has been filed for Rogers Media Inc. to flip Toronto's OMNI 2 and CITY-TV repack channels, with the increase of ERP for channel  to 49.4 kW.

In the above application, it is acknowledge that such an increase in ERP to CITY-DT of 49.4 would cause a slight increase of interference to CICA-DT 18 London.

-DT  OLEAN, New York  has petitioned the FCC and I.C. to change its polarization from horizontal to circular when it moves to RF 11 on/before March 13, 2020 / phase 8.
This will slightly increase its contour.

WBXZ-LP punts:

This amendment is being filed in response to a 30-day letter, 1800E3-RLG, advising that the pending application for CH 23 was objected to by Canada due to predicted interference to CIII-DT in Paris, Ontario. The minor amendment specified herein causes no impermissible interference to CIII-DT or any other facility in the FCC LMS database.

The affiant contacted the International Branch, as recommended by the Media Bureau, to understand why the application was amended and to determine how to address Canadian concerns in a manner that should result in Canadian concurrence.
