Lyndel,

I am anxiously awaiting your NG release. In the meantime, I am trying to play with SNL and can't figure it out. Can you send me the jump start w/DOC and CCF?

Todd,

Well, if you had an email address on your profile,
you would have gotten the doc as well.

I now have all my disks in 3 megachangers and have a Foxpro database in which I deleted a few records that caused error messages during compilition with version 2.00.0.4. Earlier today a subset exported from the database as a comma delimited file worked justs fine and produced a ccf file that did not crash pronto edit (ver 4.0.5). Tonight I exported the total database with 1122 records. Imported into SNL with no problems. Compilition gave error that alphabet button was already present in some pannels. Got a 1044 KB sized ccf file. However, when I try to open it with Pronto Edit, Pronto Edit crashes during the opening.

Might the ccf file size be too big for pronto edit? Have tried and tried for weeks to get a ccf file that will work. Many thanks, Gary.

I forgot to apply the PE upstack kindly supplied by Rick Magoo. After such application, pronto edit managed to open the ccf file okay. Gary.

Gary,

Who do you think Rick Magoo is??? It's me, darnit. That's an old nickname. Instead of having to use PEUpstack, you might also try decreasing the number of panels on the main screen to something around 150 versus the default value of 300. You may indeed have memory issues but since you were able to load following PEUpstack, I suggest you drop the 300 to some lower number.

I also suspect that since you are having problems, you may also be using Tracks. Most folks have problems when they attempt to use tracks. It makes better sense to only use tracks for discs that you need track info. For other discs, simply check the 'Ignore Tracks' button on the Edit Disc dialog.

In response to a post on the NG thread, I wanted to update you all here about possibilities available using VB Script to import data from CDJ/DVD Profiler/Catraxx, etc...

Can SNL import from DVD Profiler? It is a great
free utility. You enter all of your DVDs and
it downloads all sorts of information and a picture
of the cover. It can also export to an XML file.
This would be great for automatically creating
a list with pictures.

Carlton,

This is something that 'Boobie' and I are looking at for SuperNudelist.

The fact that XML can be exported is wonderful as a VB Script file can be written to translate between DVD Profiler's XML file and the SuperNudelist XML file.

I recently converted my Catraxx Database - SuperNudelist XML program to VB Script. I'm reading the MS Access database and writing the SuperNudelist SN_Library.XML file all from a VB Script text file.

However, it should be noted that Cover Art will NOT be supported in the near future due to memory requirements and the fact that SNL does NOT currently support cover-art based layouts.

I'll most likely start off this year with some examples of reading CDJ and DVD Profiler input sources and converting to SuperNudelist's XML format.

If you are interested in obtaining a heads up, you will want to visit Microsoft MSDN http://msdn.microsoft.com and do a search on 'Scripting'. There's a VB Script primer out there that will help you along.

Icon compression OFF.
Compiling CSF...
Opening script "C:\Data\ProntoPro\Downloads\supernudelist\SN_Temp\SuperNudelist.csf" for reading
Line 4 : Error E0008 : "Invalid Icon" Pass 0 : "Home("HOME","BMP\icon0000.bmp")"
"C:\Data\ProntoPro\Downloads\supernudelist\SN_Temp\SuperNudelist.csf" is not a valid CSF file.

Same error all the time ... What can I try to troubleshoot?

I suggest printing the thread, reading it, and referring back to it occasionally if you are a new user. I've tried to keep this thread focused on problems and solutions. Many answers are here. You just have to read.

Try reading page 10 of this thread in a post from Elie Muyal. The only known answer lies there.

I don't know what causes the problem but it is not an SNL problem. Most likely something to do with the System Area in the CCF file and possibly an incompatible icon. As you did not mention the type of remote you are using, I'm at a loss to make any further suggestions other than verifying that the size of the home icon is correct.

Lyndel,

Would you please send me a copy of the jumpstart file? I have been working with SNL for a few days to no avail. Thanks for all your great help!
