Just looking to see if there would be interest in a "real" infrared control solution for the PS3. It would offer all of the current functionality of the 51-button Sony bluetooth remote, including powering on the system, but via any infrared remote or control system.

I've got 3 customers who would be interested.

I'd personally be interested if I was "allowed" to buy a PS3....ahhhh marriage :-)

I just talked a client out of a PS3 for BluRay due to the lack of a good control solution.

Keep us up to speed.

if there is a solution sony looses the ability to charge a real premium for their standalone units, and the the Blu ray market compresses...why would sony want to do that?

I got the Nyko Bluwave for my PS3 and it works great.
Small usb base with decent size remote ($20.00 @ Game Stop).
It has all of the needed functions with good range.

I don't want to give too many details since they're not mine to give. But sufficed to say it would offer a clean look (could be completely invisible in a rack mount situation), requires no modification of the PS3, and would take essentially no work to install.
