Does anyone here have the MX-980 Expansion pack and would be happy to send me a link to DL it please?

I've had a play with creating new icons for CCP and, unlike on the old MX-810, it's a right PITA!

The "MX-810 ProWizard" might have sucked badly in general, but at least making your own icons was pretty painless.

Just to add some additional info - I was able to install my 2009 edition of CCP in a Windows 7 VM on my intel Mac. Then I ran through the huge update and backed up the "URCFrame.exe" file.

I then ran the next update, which breaks the PowerShell hack. So I replaced the "URCFrame.exe" file with the previous version and the PowerShell hack works again. 👍

I imagine this method should keep most of us going for a fair while.

Ya, looks like they finally closed the loop-hole.  I bet the read this post - I am guessing they will not be sending me a bug find reward :).

But I have an account and it was a fairly painless process so we should hopefully be ok going forward.  Good to know we can still get around it with the old EXE if they ever decided to lock us back out.  Thanks for testing it!

No worries Ernie.

I've requested an account using Australian consumer law to back me up:

Under Australian consumer law – Products must:

* come with undisturbed possession, so no one has a right to take the goods away or prevent you from using them

Without a user ID and password to use the CCP software, URC is not complying with Australian consumer law, please remedy this issue so I can use my new OLED TV's with my remotes.

They've asked for my serials which I've provided.

I had not used CCP in a long time, but I had to replace an Android tablet, and I had to install CCP on my laptop because my last version was on my old desktop pc. I came to this thread when I ran into this problem. Sadly, the workaround posted here doesn't seem to work anymore.

But, I called URC tech support. He quickly offered to set me up with a user id and password, although he did say "they don't usually do this", or something like that. (I guess it helps to ask politely.) He also advised me to hang onto the installation files because they don't give them out.

Amusingly, after I got in, I had trouble getting it to talk to the tablet. I did a search here and found a post about installing MSXML 4.0 if you did not have it. That fixed the problem. Then I looked at the post and discovered that I had written the post myself many years earlier!

Damit. Wish I would have read this BEFORE hitting the update button. I have not had a need to tweak my remotes for a couple of years now....

I tried to replace the Frame file with an older file, but the software will not open past the initialization pop-up.

I have two, MX1200s for two separate systems. Both were bought years ago from Surf Remote. Sigh.....

What email should I send a groveling request for log-in credentials to?

For any Aussies, this approach worked for me and I now have a working dealer account. :)

Meaning.... you can order product from the portal at dealer cost?

Or you just mean you can log into the software now?

I can log in to the URC Portal (& CCP software), download CCP and get Live Updates.

Same here, if anyone has the last working URCFrame.exe they could share via RCMail I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks!

At the risk of being totally ignored, can someone share the CCP software with me? Either discreetly or here. I purchased the MX-780 and of course only after purchasing I realized that I need a dealer to set it up for me. There are videos on YouTube that are easy to follow so I kind of feel a level of unjust being required to pay for a dealer for a 10-15 min programming that I can easily do myself. I'd greatly appreciate if someone can help.
