Were you insured? :) Sorry...had to do it. Get well soon...whether you wanted to hear it or not. I think attitude is more than half the battle. Spend time with the kids and the guns and cars and dogs or whatever it is that actually makes you/us happy.
My uncle had a heart attack at 40. Medical bills and the inability to work bankrupted him immediately. 20 years in business was no match for the human bodies inability to fix every problem that our stressful lives and poor diet throw at it. Thanks for the Well Wishes Mac. Yes, fortunately I'm insured. But I wasn't for years. My wife works at a bank part time for the sole purpose of getting our healthcare. Her paycheck is $200 every 2 weeks. (That's not a typo). Yikes.

Well out of shear (or it is sheer? Ernie?) curiosity, I have been trying to log in and get a quote from obama. I FINALLY was able to create an account tonight, but I cannot login. I called them, and surprisingly, I got through within 30 seconds!!! WTF?!!! You know what she told me? There are glitches in the system and no one can log in. Really? They are working on it. Right now, they are working on it. Seriously, as I am typing this, they are working on it.
I want to drive a bus through whatever building this is happening in. It sure would not slow down their progress any more. Who was in charge of this rollout? Did they expect everyone in America to politely take turns logging on? Did they expect only 5% to sign up? Really? I should not be surprised. If a survey were to be conducted to determine the least efficient organization in the universe, obviously our government would win. Unless the survey was conducted by them. They should have politician apprentice. Donald would pull his hair off!

I met with our insurance rep a couple of weeks ago. Our company policy renews in May. 95% increase coming in May. We have the option to renew on Dec 1 for a 17% increase. We are getting the short end of the stick.

Healthcare.gov has to be the worse site I have ever used. OK CEDIA's is a close second. A week to get enrolled, and all day just try and get my family stats in to see pricing. Why ask for the sex on a completely separate screen? Five minuets to load each answer.
The fun has only just begun!

The government's own bean counters are projecting a $621 billion dollar increase in health care in the next ten years. Affordable insurance is only going to be available to the poor apparently. Somebody else will pay for it. If you bust your ass and work hard every day, you can feel good about taking care of someone drinking a 40 on the front porch while you work. I don't know how any business owner could support the Democratic party. I know the Republican party is no prize, but the liberals are out of their minds.

I went to lunch with my friend Saturday at the local Chinese buffet, not my choice but anyway.
What I noticed was that it seemed like every table of ethnic background, mainly Hispanic family's had at least 4 if not more kids.
A huge problem for health care in the future is the population growth of a poorer class who are not currently paying for health care but I have no doubt are taking their family's to the hospital for "free care".
I cannot see how in the future we will be able to cover these costs without those who make higher wages pay more for their healthcare to cover those who do not pay their share.
I'm a white college educated male with 0 children, the population growth of cultural minorities will be multiple nails in the coffin of group health coverage.

The first generation Irish/Italians etc to hit the "new world" all had large families too. After the 2nd and 3rd generation most follow the 0-3 kids rule.
One thing i know for sure...im not interested in landscaping, roofing or working in a kitchen. I tried two of those and it wasn't for me. If someone else wants that job they can have it. I had an installer who had to install 2 sonance outdoor subwoofers. He tried to dig the hole for about 30 seconds and gave up and went to find one of the landscapers lol. Americans can't handle hard work. We have to import for physical labor.

The lower paying jobs have always gone to the newest immigrants, story old as time.
The Irish worked harder and over time became a more populous and affluent citizenship.
I'm sure the Hispanic population is well on it's way in a similar path.
My point was that until they achieve a social status where they are contributing on a similar level of other established ethnic groups, they are the largest growing segment of the population, but the one contributing the least to the "social welfare program".

Major flaws in a system are not glitches.
