I used the Microsoft -> game -> xbox 360 codes back a few months ago and all was working, not sure if an update changes it or not, All I did was poer it on and off then had a page saying use controllers
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

As best as I can determine, like the WMC remotes, the xbox is bit toggle. Until I learned the codes on my own, and programmed using the bit toggle command, the control was intermittent. If you find the menus jump around randomly while you're trying to navigate, this is your problem.

Additionally, I found that if you use the "discrete" power commands, they may work but they may be backwards. For example, the "power on" command could work the first time you use it, but if you turn the system off using the button on the front of the system or from the game controller it will flip the discretes. The next time you go to turn the system off from the remote you would have to use the "power off" command. I just made sure the power would only be turned on and off from the remote, and it kept everything copacetic.

My xbox commands have jumped around.  I tried all the mega lists, hex codes suggested on here, and nothing worked consistently.  It's like the power commands switch when you turn in on/off from the front Power button and the controllers.  My last trick that seemed to work was sending [I think it was] Info then delay, then Power On for power on.  For some reason that worked for like 2 weeks and has never worked again.

If it's toggle bit (like WMC), then why do my DVD transport keys work perfectly?

I'm going to be ripping my gear apart this weekend, so I'll revisit the problem and post if I figure anything out...

I've had similar results, but haven't had the time or inkling to really mess with it.

I have an easier time controlling a PS3 for god's sake. Same experience here - codes work sometimes depending on power status and there is some inconsistancy across the board. The codes used to navigate throught the menus are flawless - it's the power and the start/media commands that are flaky.

Try adjusting the IR blaster. I had to move mine slightly higer than center to get it to work reliably. It was almost like the signal was too strong.

Yep 100% correct.

I have a 360 integrated, and nothing but trouble. The codes in the Master, are rubbish, they dont work. I'll try and spend some time, doing all the Toggle Bit codes, and post them up.

If you have used the Hex Codes I posted and Linked in Post 3 they are actually the Toggle T=1 Codes genarated with MakeHex.

I have updated the Hex Codes in this Link to include the T=0 and T=1 Codes.

Jason,
I am trying to set up controls for an xbox. Thanks for the info on the toggle bit commands. The other codes posted in the IR library and this post do not work. They seem to work for a while then get reversed. Can you explain a touch more about the bit commands? They do not reverse every time, not sure what triggers the reversal. With the 2 commands, what do you do with these? Do you set up a button toggle to switch each command? Doesn't make sense to me since the codes do not reverse each time. Thanks.

Personally I have never had problems with Toggle Bit Codes because the guys I program for use Pronto and Nevo Remotes (I have not tried the Nevo's with the below code type but they work with short RCx codes) which can use a shortened Hex Codes that removes this problem.

e.g. Digit 1 would look like this on Pronto,
616A 0000 0000 0001 0074 0000

See Parity & Toggle Bits for more info.

I have never programed an RTI Remote so I can't help much but if there is nothing in the RTI Software to overcome this problem I would test all of T=0 codes by testing the same code sent twice in a row to see if they work both times.

If they don't work two or three times in a row you would need to alternate between the T=0 and the T=1 codes for those codes.

Hope this helps!

Cheers
Jason
