Never mind...I finally found directions on page 34 of the manual. It's not listed in the TOC or index, just kind of hidden there in case anyone else is looking for the same info.

Ron,

Your ifnormation looks great!! I was wondering if I can change the command code for the DAV-C450 unit that uses the RM-SS450 remote?

Thank you very much!

Sincerely,
Adam

edmund,

Thank you for the response. Just to clarify, my unit/remote's command code cannot be changed?

Thank you again,
Adam

Any updates on changing AV2 to AV1 on Sony STR-DG600 to get it to work with a VIP 622 remote?

Great Post. I figured out that this procedure also works for the HT-7000DH & HT-7550DH (aka STR-K7000). Now I can use my Sony universal remote, RM-V503.

On the Receiver:
1. Turn off receiver
2. Press and hold the INPUT button
3. Press the power button to toggle AV modes
4. The display will read out the current mode, i.e., AV1 or AV2.

Works great. Thanks

I have added the procedures for both components to this thread.

For the DG600 I would try the same technique as the DG800. On the unit, turn on the unit while holding "Input Mode" to toggle between AV1 and AV2. On the remote, press and hold "Remote Setup" until the light on, press 1 for AV1 or 2 for AV2, then enter. Light flashes then goes out.

If I change my system to AV1, can anyone point me to a component page for my pronto that will work on AV1?

Thanks for the info. I have updated this thread accordingly.

I don't know anything about a Pronto, but the standard Sony component code will work with AV1, so you can either use the Receiver page, or do whatever makes the Pronto assign a receiver to another component screen.

Well I just got off of chat with SONY tech support and he straight up told me that it was impossible to run a de995 reciever with the av 2100 remote. And you mr aronson singlehandedly proved him wrong.. You rock!

Just want to say thanks. Maybe I knew this the last time I set up a Sony receiver - but that was a long time ago! By the way - I have the Sony STR-DG1000. You can change both the receiver - and the remote - and the instructions are on pages 38-9 of the user manual. Now everything works with my old Sony Remote Commander AV-2100. Robyn

I have added the STR-DG1000 (thanks, robyn) and updated the procedures for the STR-DG600, STR-DG800 and the HT-7000DH and HT-7550DH (STR-K7000 receiver and RM-AAP012 remote) in this thread.

Thank you very much for this forum/topic. It saved me time and $$$ instead of returning my STR-DG1000 for a Denon AVR-2307ci just to control my volume with my S/A 8300HD stock remote. As a new project, now I have to go home and try re-program my Harmony 880 to AV1 codes as a backup (since it is programed with AV2 codes).
