Great Post. I figured out that this procedure also works
for the HT-7000DH & HT-7550DH (aka STR-K7000). Now I
can use my Sony universal remote, RM-V503.
On the Receiver:
1. Turn off receiver
2. Press and hold the INPUT button
3. Press the power button to toggle AV modes
4. The display will read out the current mode, i.e., AV1
or AV2.
