No, but those of us who are out of memory are hoping it frees up the second 16mb in the Pronto -- for us it is a serious issue.

Question: What takes up all the additional memory? I'm controling 6 devices and I have about 20 pictures loaded but I have about 70% memory left?!

What am I missing?

Some folks are building CDs and DVDs art cover collections for their jukebox.

Several hundred channel logos, 400 dvd covers and if there was space 400 cd covers. I already had to take out the second set of channel logos :-(

Still thrilled with the remote, however.

It would be great if someone at Philips would respond to one of these posts about the tsu7000 update...

They don't like making promises they can't keep. Plus, I think they want to make sure they don't make things worse with an improvement. I wouldn't mind a ballpark and I wouldn't hold them to it. However, in the past they gave a target date and when that date approached many people here started asking where it was and when the date passed they bashed philips for not releasing it.

As well as the 32Mb, Philips had also made mention of some new functionality. Pure speculation here, but maybe we might get some of that.

Don't hold your breath for the 32MB upgrade just yet. There are still USB issues that must be resolved.

The TSU7000 has been spec'd out with 32 megs of memory since day one. Unless you call Phillips directly or spend time on this forum you would have no idea the remote only can use 16 megs right now. I find it irritating that Phillips is advertising 32 megs when it is not truly available.

In my opinion, irrespective of what other things can be improved upon, or tweaked further, Phillips owes it to their customer base to concentrate on one thing and one thing only with regards to the TSU7000 ... upgrading the firmware (and editor if needed) to support all 32 megs of memory in the remote.

Unless Phillips can promise us a firm date on when the full 32 megs will be available I think they should downgrade their official specs to 16 megs (upgradeable to 32 megs with a future firmware update). For $1000 retail I expect to have the full 32 megs available. If not, they should not advertise the TSU7000 as having such.

Say it, Lowpro! The marketing is completely misleading and Philips is further dropping the ball by keeping so quiet about the update status.

As weeks have turned into months , when is the update going to be released for the 7000. My 7000 has sat idle why I wait for updates. This product was released way to soon to the public and should have been tested more. It cannot even do all the things the 6000 could with the codes for my projector.

Tim,

Would you care to elaborate on the things you cannot do? That's an awfully expensive dust-catcher you have there.

We (Beta Test Team) put quite a bit of testing into the 7000.

Yes, software/firmware may have issues, but overall, IMHO, it's a solid remote.

Lyndel,

I have a Marque Projector that works with my 6000 remote, but cannot with the 7000. The Pronto team was sent my files both for the 6000 and the 7000. They said they were unable to make the 7000 codes work, the frequency was to high and it would be months not weeks to maybe resolve this issue. Without the projector working I cannot work my HT room without also using my 6000 or original remote and also use my diffent settings for the Marque. The graphics are great on the 7000 but I would like to at least thought it would work as well for all the IR codes when I upgraded from the 6000 to 7000. So it sets on my self waiting for this fix.

Thanks,

Tim
