Well, that is what I was wondering, in so many words. Could you take a new install of Vista and add ActiveSync, as an application to Vista and see if it would talk to the Nevo SL??? I mean downloading projects to the Nevo SL by this.

Is there any chance you could give it a full test or at
least let me know which bits you have got running. My
priority is to get the mediaserver and play up and running

Thanks

Chris

I've only tried making new configs and downloading to the NevoSL... nothing more, and don't have NevoMedia on this mahcine, so wouldn't be able to comment there! The CD doesn't let me install on this machine! I'm waiting for s solid response from the Nevo support before moving on to be safe.

For starters I will only want to make a config and download. Are you using Visa and this part works?

I have Vista but not the remote or software. I am just starting to learn about Nevo and came upon this thread.

One thing that tends to work when installing software is to right click on the install exe and choose properties - compatibility -

On this tab you can specify that a program runs as if it is running on an earlier OS.

This MIGHT get the install to go.

Has anyone tried installing the older ActiveSync, with
Vista and see if it not only installs but actually works?

I had the beta version of Vista and I did try installing activesync because at the time, I didn't realize that it was now a part of Vista. I got an error message explaining to me that I was an idiot and that activesync no longer exists in the Vista world and it pointed me to a web page that showed me how to use the new integrated sync center. I'm sure it is the same with the final release.

Has anyone got Vista working with the Nevo since the official version has been released.
I purchased my laptop after October 2006, so I get a free upgrade from Windows XP MCE to Vista.
The disc is due to arrive soon, but do I upgrade and risk losing the Nevo capability.

I also have a desktop in the bedroom to which I stream music via the Nevo. That has XP installed and I don't intend upgrading. Does anyone know if this will cause any issues by streaming from Vista, through the Nevo, and then to the XP desktop?

It wont work! Ive tried exactly the same thing! I talked to the technical guys from Nevo the other day and they said "Engineering is working on a Vista release" did not sound like it would be soon!

Ouch Steve,

That hurt.
I have been contacting the Vista team to try to hurry up my delivery of the new disc.
Don't think I will bother now

Did anyone try using Virtual PC 2007 then loading XP and Nevo Studio on that? I just noticed that Virtual PC 2007 is a free download, but I believe it only runs on the Ultimate Edition I think. Just a thought while we wait for the new Vista compatable version of Nevo Studio.

Hell, as long as they're working from the ground up on re-coding, can I put in a request for an OS X version? That would be more than acceptable... :-)

I have Nevo studio running on Vista, again I upgraded from XP.
Problems I am having
Unable to see/discover Nevo links in new and existing projects, this may be a Vista Networking issue rather than Nevo studio(appear greyed out)
Unable to use wireless programming.
Otherwise all ok
