Not yet. Just downloaded. BTW, it is there anyway to subscribe to threads like on avsforum? I had to keep checking the thread for responses.

I am late to the game on this one... I have not been hanging around here for a while :).

I realize that it may have already been cracked but for those who want a concise proceedural description...

Here is a post of mine on the subject that John may have wanted to reference:

Version 2.01 appears to now work correctly for Sharp code batch generation. Thank you.

tgrugett- I read some of your discussion from previous months about MakeHex and solving the "Denon problem." Glad to bring you back into the loop with good news. Rob has written a fantastic program that generates hex codes from Deonon's Sharp and Kaseikyo codes. Take a look- it's finally a really easy, elegant solution that all Denon users can appreciate.

gimp - thanks for the feedback.

brodyboy - thanks again for your kind comments.

I am in no hurry for this myself, but I've since noticed that Denon publish codes for some components in hex, rather than decimal or binary as I'd always seen in the past.

Maybe one day I'll add this method of input, maybe I won't. If someone needs this then drop me a line...

If they're already in hex, why would there be a need to run them through your program?

Not Pronto hex. The Genre1/2 and data (function) values are defined in hex.

So lets say the function number was decimal '20'. In 'reverse binary' this would be (data 29~38) 0010100000, but in hex it would be '14'. Of course you can easily convert these hex values to decimal using windows calculator, but the whole idea of my program was to remove all this trivial manual conversion.

Very nice to have the HexGen, Thanks Mr Wilson.

Questions about how to do batch mode.

I have a 5308 and 9200 with plenty of memory left.
I want to generate a lot of panels, The biggest pain I can see is no labels referencing the “Key Name” . Does the batch mode produce the panels in the order that Denon has published in the RC dock?
Like the page that starts with K4-2 main Genre2 25-28 as 0100, The data starts at 29-38 1000000000 as the first command “ALL POWER ON/OFF” and call that 1 in first function and if I where to do them all I might use 140 last function. The big question is , Will the buttons and panels be generated in the order that Denon has published in the RC doc? Then I can just label the dock as a cheat sheet. I will most likely use remote ID2 as I have some very old Denon gear that I may use in future.

Many thanksin advance
Ken

Hi, sorry been busy couple of days and I don't always remember to check this forum. Annoying that you don't get e-mail notifications like you do from most other forums. Anyway, on with the problem in hand...

I assume you're referring to page 9, which is the Main Zone for remote ID's 2-4. Denon's Kaseikyo codes are not 100% sequential, which is a pain in the backside. They do however go in ascending order and do tend to work in groups of sequences.

When set to Remote ID 2, if you enter the binary (data) for the ALL POWER ON/OFF code you will see that this is function 1025, ALL POWER ON is 1026, ALL POWER OFF is 1027, but then MAIN ZONE ON jumps to 1030. It continues on like this missing out codes. The last code for MAIN ZONE SKIP/TUNING UP is 2020.

Personally I prefer to use the single code mode, rather than wasting loads of memory in my Pronto with aliased panels containing functions I don't want. However...

If you generate codes from 1025 to 2020, the first panel generated (labeled 0-14) will give you codes 1025-1039 and so on. The buttons in the panels are labeled correctly.

So once you've generated the codes if you then want the code for (for example) AUDIO DELAY UP, use my program as a "calculator" and enter the binary data as listed (1011011001) and it will tell you the function is number 1645.

Make sure you set the receiver to respond to remote ID 2, details of which are on page 41 according to this manual:

Please report back and let me know how you get on.

Rob.

Thanks, I know you have a real job so thanks for the help.

I have the remote ID set as 2, It works becouse I set the remote to 2 also, I have had no problem doing single comands and pasting them in.
As in ALL POWER ON/OFF I see the label Function Disc=1025 how do I locate that info in Tonto, Or do I have to edit that info in myself,

Manythanksagain

OK
I'm seeing the light,
I have to set the the first function to 1025 and the last to 2020, This is an everything on Page 9-10-11, I think there is about 140 comands on the pages, Ther are a lot of unused pages,

I will start with this and I can always delete whats not used, I have 80% of my mem free in the Pronto so this is not a problem.

Ok have I missed anything?

Thanks a Mil
Ken

You've got it !

Yes lots of unused functions are created. The Sharp codes are 100% sequential, but not the Kaseikyo's. I'm sure Denon have their reasons... :)
