I would like a headset free solution for zoom/teams meetings that sounds good. Is this possible?
Utilizing the built in mics/speakers of laptops and USB webcams doesn't sound very good on either end. Every time i have tried i immediately get "are you using your headset or the built in mic because it doesn't sound very good".
Anyone here podcasting or making internet content with hardware experience? I'm not trying to do those things i just imagine that the folks who do have been down this road already and could save me some time.
Thanks.

Your challenge is going to be that if you have speakers playing sound, whatever microphone will need AEC to solve the problem. Going to a Stem by Shure Table microphone would deliver the results you want.. My favorite supplier can assist. [Link: shure.com]

Also make sure that the room has plenty of sound absorption. You can only do so much if the room has reverb.

That might make the video part of the meeting awkward.... Why? Put a web cam facing the person and it'll work fine. C'mon! It'll be like driving into Wisconsin!

We have installed the Logitech Rally/Huddle/Meetup bars and clients love them. They are pricey though. For just conferencing at a desk the Meetup would work. It's microphone array does a good job of eliminating the echoes. Other than that room treatments definitely help standard microphones.

Howdy Mac!
I'm on Zoom meetings incessantly. Seems that since COVID, everyone wants to see your face when they talk to you. (I have no idea why, but they just assume that our ears don't work on phones anymore).
I refuse to comb my hair, so I keep my camera disconnected.
Anyway,
I have 2 different set ups on 2 different machines.
First. Bose Speakers BlueBall Mic. Boom Arm
Second. Monitor Audio WS100 (disco'd) BlueBall Mic. Boom arm
The key for me is the Blueball Mic. For the price, I don't think they're touchable. They make a decent mic for every budget, and when you get into the +$100 units, they're really quite good. Paired with a boom arm that you can push and pull in and out of your way, it might just be the way for you to go.
