Anyone get this to work yet? I've tried using basically all the drivers in the file from Vista 64 to XP 32. The 64 bit drivers installed correctly but I still can't upload/download to the device form my computer. I've tried to run it as XP and vista still with no luck. Is there a work around for this anyone has come up with?

I was able to get my MX-980 going with mobile sync but it doesn't work with the MSC-400.

Thanks
J.J.

I think the files in the Vista/amd64 folder are actually 32-bit drivers.

As far as I know, the MSC-400 download does not work with 64-bit Windows.(Someone please correct me if I am wrong)

If you have Windows Professional it should work with XP mode.

I have windows 7 ultimate but I tried to run it in XP mode and it still doesn't work. i think the problem is I can't even get the drivers installed. I've tried to install both 32 bit and 64 bit drivers and I get an error. I then try to run the program using XP and still can't upload. I'm able to update the software but that's about it.

Where did you install the drivers? You need to install them from within the XP virtual machine. I have not tried this but I have read that it works. If nobody else chimes in here I can try it tomorrow.

Alright, that was a big Pain in the AZZ!!!! Got it to work though. I installed virtual PC and did what you said. Not exactly what I had in mind but it is definitely better than nothing!!!! can't believe they have not come out with a 64 bit driver that works for Windows 7 or eveb vista for that matter. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I have win 7 ultimatte 64 bit and tried installing windows xp mode and virtual pc and it would not run because my laptop pentium dual core processor can't handle it. It sucks because I have to pull the MSC-400 out of the rack everytime I need to upload. I guess I would have to install win xp in a dual boot configuration. URC is never going to make a win 7 64 bit driver available.

You could run try running XP in VMware. XP Mode requires your CPU to have virtualization support.

Could you please let me know how to install the MSC_400 drivers in the xp mode? My windows xp mode on my computer (windows 7 ultimate 64 bit operating system) still does not recognize the USB when I connect to the MSC-400 machine

Funny thing is you can upload from 32-bit Windows 7 to the MSC-400 but you can't download from the MSC-400 to Windows 7. This is only an issue if for some reason your computer craps out and you need a way to restore the file.

When you buy an MSC-400 these days in has big writing on the box that says "NOT COMPATIBILE WITH WINDOWS 7 64-BIT".

I am hoping I can upload the file from a customers MSC400. Their previous installer went out of business. Even though I have somewhat extensive experience with URC remotes, programming over 500 remotes, possibly more, I have never programmed an MSC400. I have gone through the training videos and took the little quiz, but would rather not have to program one from scratch in a system that is already running ok. I just have to add an AppleTV. At least I now know that I will have to bring my XP machine and not my Windows 7 64 bit.

Wow, 500? Congrats. Never a 400? My favorite piece. Powerful and not that complicated. It first appears that way however.

Im sure you if have issues there are plenty of us that can take a look.

I know it's weird that I never programmed a 400. The company I worked for before branching off on my own never bothered to integrate them into a system, which is probably for the best since they did not bother training anyone. Once I branched out on my own, I have been mainly selling the same type of setup for control, which is simply a remote and mrf350. I've been training on Bitwise as well, but URC is still my first option and I should learn the MSC400 wether this job is coming up or not.

has anyone tried Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT) ?
[Link: microsoft.com]

I bet you can create Compatibility Fixes for CCP or MX Editor under Windows 7
