Pro Control has just announced the general availability of their iPro.8 model RF remote control, an inexpensive hard buttoned "companion" remote for systems where Apple iPhone or iPad devices are used as the primary touchscreen interface. The iPro.8 offers users quick, tactile-based control over movies, volume and channel surfing, similar to what they’re used to with regular OEM remotes, but in a device that integrates perfectly with the company’s back-end ProLink processors. This September at CEDIA in Indianapolis, new RTI spinoff company PRO Control will officially debut their inaugural product lineup. This includes two hybrid remote controls, two central control processors, plus a unique solution that combines software for a smartphone, tablet or PC with a basic hard buttoned remote control. RTI doesn’t normally exhibit at CES. I’m not even sure it’s happened in the past. However RTI’s press agency recently sent out a bit of a teaser email, claiming that the company will be exhibiting. And cross-referencing that with the official CES 2010 exhibitor list has revealed that they will indeed be there, but not under the usual Remote Technologies Inc. name. Read more...
