RTI's New KX10 In-wall Touchpanel Brings HD Video to the World of Automation

Versatile Interface Combines Extensive Control Options and HD Video Capabilities Into One Device

SHAKOPEE, Minn. — July 26, 2016 — RTI, a leading control and automation manufacturer for residential and commercial settings, today announced that its all-new KX10 in-wall touchpanel is now shipping. Specifically designed to bring simple control and automation to A/V, environmental, and security systems, the KX10 combines the capabilities of a control device and a high-definition video display into one powerful interface.

"The advanced engineering of our new KX10 in-wall touchpanel makes it much more than just a control device," said Mike Everett, vice president of sales and marketing, Americas, RTI. "With its large, high-resolution LCD, users also have a convenient place for viewing HD video via the unit's HDBaseT input as well as analog video sources through the composite input port."

The KX10's large, 10.1-inch, 1280x800 WXGA-resolution LCD is programmable to the finest detail and provides ample screen real estate for the ultimate custom user interface. Developed to be an elegant solution that allows users to efficiently engage with their surroundings, the touchpanel enables convenient control over local devices via built-in IR and RS-232 outputs. The unit also features built-in intercom support, a proximity sensor that brings it to life when a user approaches, and an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts screen brightness.

For integrators, built-in wireless Ethernet enables them to set up the KX10 easily in retrofit installations, while the wired 10/100 Base-T Ethernet provides the flexibility of Power-over-Ethernet Plus. The user interface can be custom-tailored to provide an intuitive control experience that meets the specific needs of any installation using RTI's Integration Designer® software. With the software's drag-and-drop simplicity and powerful two-way drivers, installations are streamlined and third-party electronic systems can be seamlessly integrated to create a robust, cutting-edge automation system.

RTI's KX10 in-wall touchpanel is now shipping. More information on RTI's complete portfolio of control and automation products is available at www.rticorp.com.

Engineering always impresses by making our lives easier and more comfortable. Just think, a hundred years ago, not every home had electricity, and movies or photos were significant events. But today, a small device can control an entire house, and the user only needs to make a few clicks to do so. It's incredible. Of course, it sounds simple only for the end user who doesn't know how many sleepless nights developers spent on it. In my college, I sometimes use online help for students from [Link: mysupergeek.com] when I get stuck on engineering homework and need guidance. I try to thoroughly understand the topic because I hope to work for a similar company after graduation and create useful inventions for people.
