Bruce,

You can put in a list but setup each SNL Player to Send No IR For Track #s and For Disc #s. So, what you effectively get is a browseable list. You can than Boobie for that one. He suggested it and I put it in simply to allow us to create browseable lists or, in Tom's case, to use 'Tracks' of a Dics to display episodes from TV Box Sets and upon clicking one of them, load up that disc. (To do this, Delay Disc Until Track Selection has to be specified).

Lyndel,
I've been happly using snl for about 2 years now but today I noticed that when I'm scrolling through my movie list when I come to a certian page my tsu 2000 freezes for a few seconds and then reboots. It does this consistantly time after time. I wouldnt mind re-entering all of the titles but I'm up to 272 movies and don't want to do that if I don't really need to. Any Idea what may be causing this?

I will not support any version below 2.0.0.8 (released version) and you must be using the latest CCFDLL.DLL.

The problem is most likely not with SNL but more than likely due to too many pages in a single device. The ramifications of limiting the number of pages means that you may not be able to use the Page Up/Down functionality to span devices.

Does the problem also occur in the simulator?

Not knowing if you are using tracks or whether you are using Artist as Genre, ensure that you put no more than 300 pages per device. This is controlled on the main screen of SNL.

If you still have problems after this, if there's a particular page on which the thing freezes, then send me the final CCF, let me know the page name and let me try as well in the simulator. I don't have a 2000, but I do have an RC5000i.

Lyndel,
I'm using 2.0.0.8. It freezes and reboots scrolling to the 29th page. I have a total of 30 pages. It does not do this in the simulator. I would like to send it to you, what is your email addr?
Thanks,
Lucky

Check my profile. I'll try to get some time in the next week or so. The problem is more than likely in your existing CCF based on an IR code that is exercised when you use SNL. However, your CCF will help to provide that info. You will also need to give me not the page number, but the exact id of the page from which you are scrolling from and the one you are scrolling to. For example CDs->A0 to CDs->A1.

Thanks,
Lyndel

Lyndel,
I solved my tsu2000 problems by replacing it with a tsu 7500. I have downloaded and printed out your instructions for tsu 3000 to tsu 7000 migration. I believe that these are the instructions to use even though I'm coming from a 2000 right?

I understand ok up to this statement;

"Edit PrepareForSNL.PCF and setup the following:
Any Jumps that SNL might require to return to a Device (List Jumps or Player Jumps)
Any IR codes that must be passed across the Bridge must be supplied in buttons in the Migration PCF device panels."

Specifically I don't understand the context of "setup". I assume that it means to modify these jumps in some way but I don't understand how they are to be modified.

Also I proceeded to this point,

"If you've done everything correctly, you should now have
2 devices with duplicate sets of panels. These should be
'MigrationBridge' and 'MigrationPCF'"

I only had migrationPCF, my understanding is that migrationbridge was changed to migrationPCF early in the process. and thats why its not there. I must be doing more than one thing wrong. Maybe a small example with actual files would make it more clear.

Also I thought I read somewhere (this thread?) that SNL lists can be converted to color. It seems like it was a utility to do this. Have you heard of this?

I really like SNL and just want to make it as painless to use with the 7500 as possible untill there is a 7000,7500 specific version.

Thanks,
Lucky

Lucky,

I believe you are correct. In the PCF, you have a device named Migration Bridge with a set of panels for each SNL List. In the CCF, there's a Device named Migration Hooks with a set of panels for each list in SNL. So, in short, there's a panel in Migration Bridge(PCF) for a CD list. There's a sibling panel in Migration Hooks(CCF) for the same CD list. These panels contain buttons used to "bridge" the gap between CCF and PCF. Specifically, any Player Jumps and any Links To List buttons are placed here. After running SNL, the CCF can be imported as a PCF and could, in theory, stand alone. However, you merge it into your CCF and simply use the Alt-Shift-Drag to "link" up the buttons.

If you still can't figure it out, email me and I'll send you a 5MB migration example. For this package, donations are appreciated. Remember that the images inside are copyrighted and cannot be used for commercial purposes. See the license.txt file in the zip I will email.

Lyndel,

I have just re-engaged with SNL 2.08 after working for many years with version 1.x I have a Marantz RC9500 and I am quite confused about the SNL Migration Hooks readme. It seems confusing to me as there are numerous edits, renames and save's as. Is there a PowerPoint Slide or a graphic that outlines the files and the purpose of each. I also need some direction on setting up color buttons.

Thanks In advance

Please see here...

[Link: remotecentral.com]

Email me with an email addy that can receive a 5 MB package and I'll send you an example of how I do migration on the TSU7000. Please keep in mind that the TSU7000 has a 240x253 user area and the RC9500 has a different sized user area so you may find that things don't look the way you want them to.

For the Color Override, you will be placing files into a folder named ColorOverride_Large. This is all outlined in the release notes for Advanced Icon Design and also covered in my example I can send via email.

Is there any hope for continued support for SNL? I for one would be happy to donate to support SNL however I do not have a paypal account, and don't like the fine print of the paypal agreement. If there was an alternative method.

In short, in order to get my titles to sort correctly I have to use

Leters-> Discs -> Tracks

otherwise The Abyss will appear under T for "The" instead of under A for abyss.

This creates a bunch of A0 A1 A2 panels which to me are bothersome. After deleting all the A# panels I have to relink everything by hand. A time consuming task.

If I could just generate the alphabit panel and the disc/titles and have the titles correctly sorted this would make things MUCH easier. Support for CCF and PCF would be desireable. Having an auto relinker (after the A# panels deletion in the ccf.) would be wonderful.

Thanks

froo,

What type of list are you trying to generate? Movies?

You may or may not be aware that when you add a disc, there are 3 fields:

Disc Name
Short Name (name used to display disc on bottom links)
Sort Name - This is where you'd specify "Abyss, The" for your disc to get it sorted properly.

I replied via email to you as well. Please review my response and ask further questions here.

As I stated in email. The A0, A1, A2... panels should not be generated if Levels is what you say it currently is "Letters->Discs->Tracks". The only way those panels could be present is if you are using the same CCF for both input and output. In which case, the A# panels were there previously. If you find that you need the A# panels as you've done something there, I suggest using "Artist" as a Genre and also investigating the Links To This List (bottom left corner of the Edit List Dialog).

I firmly believe that SNL will do what you need. Specifically, that 2.0.0.8 already does what you need. If you have a requirement that's different, I'd be willing to look at your CCF and setup and explore options. If you still believe that it does not do what you want, email me a zip file containing the following: your input CCF, and the contents of the SN_Config folder in the folder where supernudelist.exe resides and I'll have a look and make suggestions.

Currently, SNL is supported in CCF format only. Using the "Migration Mode", it is capable of generating CCFs to match the 240x253 user area of the NG remotes (TSU3000/7000). Unfortunately, there is no native PCF or XCF support availalble at this time.
