I purchased mine at http://avpronet.com for $109.95 + $11.49 for 2 day shipping. If you're willing to wait I'm sure it's less to ship.

Smooth transaction.

Looks like avpronet.com jacked up the price by $5. It's now $114.95.

www.surfremotecontrol.com has also come down in the past few months apparently. They are $119 and I paid another $15 for 2 day service. Should be here tomorrow!

I have just ordered my MX-500 from RRdeals. I have had good luck in all of my on-line ordering in the past (I built this PC from parts ordered on-line) and hope it continues. I have read the GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY things posted here in the forums, with some wonder. I am sure that _IF_ something were to go wrong with my order, regardless of whom I order it from, that it can be resolved in private, rather then airing "Dirty Laundry" in a public forum. I am more interested in getting a remote that, I hope, will solve my "Remote Bloat" and getting more information on the codes and help that I will most likely need. I look forward to posting my questions about "how do I?" in the forum and to getting everyones assistance if/when I run into those problems.

Last week I visited this site for the first time to help me choose a remote. I decided on the MX-500, and ordered it from one of the advertising sponsors. I realized later that I had paid a little more, but I didn't mind as long as the order process went smoothly.

The remote shipped immediately and arrived when expected. Just for fun while sitting at my desk at work, I ran the firmware check, and it failed! I couldn't believe it, since the thread regarding old firmware went back to June!

So I contacted the seller and asked for and received a return authorization. I also asked for a full credit -we'll see what happens there. I probably should have received an offer to pick it up and cross ship a new one immediately, but at least I got what I asked for.

That was on Monday. Later that morning, I ordered a new one from RRDeals. I received a tracking number later in the day, and the remote arrived today. It does have the latest firmware and I'm very happy.

In this case paying more certainly got me less!

Mitch

EdA,

If you go through this link for AVProNet, it's still 109.95 but they are out of stock, they had to order mine...

That's interesting, they give you a discount for going through Yahoo... I went through Yahoo to get mine at $109.

That's even more odd since Yahoo charges store owners extra if the sale comes from Yahoo shopping.

Just outta what has happened in the past. I would like it if you could keep me informed of your dealings with RRdeals. I'd also like to find some one who, like me is NEW to this remote and could perhaps assist each other with them. You can reach me at [email protected]

That's strange...they've changed the page that my link goes to and now it brings up AVStreet and the price is $112.95! (List Price: $230.00! Yeah right... it's not even that much directly from the manufacturer.)

AVProNet Price is still $114.95.

I've done some looking around today and both AVStreet and AVPronets are out of stock. Per Daniel's guidelines, I'd like to say that www.RRDeals.com has MX-500's in stock and ready to ship. Most people receive their remotes within 4 days (UPS Ground), or we do offer 2nd Day and Next Day shipping as well.

Just bought my MX-500 from www.RRDeals.com for $124.95 plus shipping. I got an immediate (same day) reply to my questions about whether they could ship US Postal Service to an APO address overseas (they can). Despite the distance and the fact that Anthrax scares closed all APO post offices for a couple of days, the remote arrived VERY quickly, in the original packaging. I am extremely happy with the services provided by Randy and highly recommend his company.

Due to the recent rash of kudos to rrdeals.com, do I assume correctly that they are asking their buyers to comment here on RC again in their emails?

They said they were going to stop doing that.

Just wondering........
