Some countries will not be carrying the HTM RF models due to certain regulations. Contact Ken Groves - he's the primary European sales contact. He can help you.

Let's hope it works better out of the starting gate than the iPronto did...

Have done so (a stunningly quick response of about 10 minutes). He tells me that at the moment they're concerntrating on getting the US launch right.

Assuming all goes well they then need to get European RF approval and also source a power supply for the RF section. So maybe, just maybe, we might see it in time for Christmas. (One for my sock).

Does anyone know the size of the screen. By scaling the photo I get 3.8"w x 2.7"h. I would like to have seen a little larger screen such as 3.8" x 3.8". My biggest criticism of the Pronto is the screen size which results into too many pages.

HTM also has a reputation of putting out quality products that work the first time along with timely LiveUpdates of the software and responding to what the customer is asking for - for example, the Universal Browser in the MX-700/800 editor for importing CCF's.

And, in fact, they are getting much better at setting launch dates and meeting them. I know that they are going to be paying for air freight to get the first shipments of 3000's and 600's over here in order to meet their goals.

Anyway, I'd wait for good quality and good programming any day over missed launch dates.

On another note, I'm going to love the stored variables for controlling the Power On/Off of my home theater system. Will make macros fool-proof.

And also, the ability to emit more than one macro at a time.

And, for those who need feedback, the dynamic reporting on-screen of what the remote is doing as far as "TV turned on", "Receiver Turned On", etc. Great for the less nerdy/geedky/gadgety of those in our households.

Also, what are we going to see in the files that come from the users with 64,000 colors and animated GIFs?? WILD! A straight import of Animated GIFs, GIFs, JPEG, and BMP graphics. Some cool stuff is going to going on on-screen while the MX-3000 is doing its thing!

And, while the screen is not the size of a laptop, it's horizontal orientation actually makes it more useable in my mind, especially considering the shape of the remote.

Anyway, I've had the please at CES of playing with a very early prototype that add minimal software, and it really has the WOW factor for sitting on your coffee table, and even more of a WOW factor when you get a great setup going.

And with the variable tracking, it is going to be a very easy remote to use. Also let us not forget the great RF setup as well.

Can you tell I'm kind of pumped about this remote, even though I'm am a "button" person? It is a cool remote!

'Nuff said! :-)

Another cool thing that people have been asking for is the ability to set up your own IR database. So you have a list of preprogrammed codes, learned codes, and your own database that you can put either of those into.

It's a pretty nice program even in its beta form!

Oh yeah! You can drag graphics from a CCF file onto the page of your MX-3000 device. It isn't fully implemented yet in my version, but it sure will make a quick file for those who want to get their MX-3000 up and running quickly!

Dang! The more I go through this pre-release MX-3000 beta, the more excited I am getting.

You can have repeating IR codes without having to hold down the button.

You can use any typeface that you have on your system.

You have an Image Gallery and a Sound Gallery (uses .wav sounds).

You could make up an entire HELP device that not only shows, with animated GIFS, but also "tells" the person how to use the remote. You could even record your own voice for the custom guide on your remote.

Think of that and add on the ability to perform multiple macros at a time and wo! - what kind of files are we going to see here on Remote Central.

Yikes!

It doesn't appear to bring the IR code with the graphic, but I imagine that will come with full implementation.

Correction: It does bring the code with it in its current form.
