Finally tried BJ's last night. Wanted the ribs but they were out, so had the ribeye. Steak was great but it wasn't a ribeye. A true ribeye is cooked and served on the bone.

Still looking for other suggestions folks, i have another week to go yet before my 30 hr stint back home. The last few posts have not been helpful.

You could hunt down some Authentic Aussie food and go to an Outback Steak House! ;)

That place bears no resemblance to anything Aussie. For example, not one Aussie has ever ordered anything called "Blooming Onions" which appears to be the signature dish.

I'm departing tonight, i ended up eating at B.J's 3 times and skipped dinner about 8 times in favor of getting drunk in my room and washing down opiate drugs with the booze to help me sleep.
For a few lunches i tried "in and out", not bad for a burger chain, "Claim jumper" which had my stomach gurgling for hours afterwards and Clearman's north woods inn which was..............interesting.

Does anyone in this country know what real cheese is? Cheese is made of milk, it's not dyed orange with annatto seed which most seem to be here and it all has the consistency of tofu. The only proper tasting cheese i have had here is Blue cheese, and that was only in a salad dressing. Every cheese i have eaten here would be considered kids cheese back home. Where is the biting crumbly mature cheddar.

Got to see a few sites while i was here, so overall the trip was pretty good. The product launch went great too.
I guarantee I'll tell you the truth and I guarantee I'll tell you what you need to know but I can't guarantee that I'll be telling you anything you want to hear.

In n Out is a cool place to go if you don't live in CA, otherwise, you ate at places I would never recommend to anyone! Period!

Glad you enjoyed your time here, though! Safe travels...

Next time schedule your trip for Wisconsin. They have entire fairs based around cheese. But nothing goes on a burger like processed American cheese that comes with each slice wrapped in its own plastic.

Probably the biggest problem was the selection of places you were cursed with. Better restaurants use fresh real ingredients. Especially artisan products like cheese. But don’t worry, we’ve almost taken over Europe with processed, factory made food. Their kids are becoming as fat as ours. So by your next trip, there’s a good chance we will be exporting more of our crap to your part of the world. So you’ll feel more at home next visit!

When I am somewhere new, I am a big fan of using Google Maps “explore” feature. They categorize restaurants by type, obviously location but also keep track of things like where the locals go. The reviews come into play also. I have found some real gems that even people living there didn’t know about.

I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier. I would've invited you to the west side of Los Angeles (Venice, Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey), the beach cities. There's plenty of good food around here, from great "taco stands" to sit down meals. Maybe on your next trip!!

Sounds like you got a little more American hate to take back with you. I'm sure you'll spread it around. You're pretty good at that.

He has a valid complaint on this one. We have some really bad food in America. Especially all the processed factory made crap that so many places serve. I could see why a foreign traveler who is used to fresh and real food. That said, I’ll still only take so much crap over bad food from someone from the land that created Vegimite.

Next time, come to the real California for real cheese.

Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right.

Chain restaurants are mediocre at best, and that is what you had from my readings. Why someone would take offence to your bad ratings of these places is beyond me.
Like PSS mentioned, as did I earlier, head west towards the ocean next time out. I grew up just south of the area he mentioned. No shortage of great food from all over the world.

That's why I put the smiley face there bub, I despise that place and its embarrassing the try an parade that shit as Aussie.

Define "interesting" at North Woods, was it the old ladies with their low cut tops and pushed up old ass boobies? I cant speak for that location but the one in Orange County I loved going to with a good buzz on. When I drink my hunger is insatiable and I love to eat myself into a food coma, wake up and deliver food babies!

Glad you made the best of it all things considered.
Like I said, you gotta get to the costal area to have good food.

I agree on the cheese thing here especially the cheddar, its hard to find a good bold sharp. I use Blu-Cheese crumbles on everything. Everyone freaks out when I eat the shit straight.

Oh as an Aussie you should know better, its a Bloomin Onion, not a Blooming Onion. :)

On a visit to MA back in 2013, I visited a Outback Steakhouse, the food was fine, unfortunately they couldn't make me a vegemite sandwich (only an Aussie would really get that one!).

I guess you missed my vegemite reference in post 39. And everything I learned about Australia was from Crocodile Dundee movies.
