Does anyone in this country know what real cheese is? Cheese is made of milk, it's not dyed orange with annatto seed which most seem to be here and it all has the consistency of tofu. The only proper tasting cheese i have had here is Blue cheese, and that was only in a salad dressing. Every cheese i have eaten here would be considered kids cheese back home. Where is the biting crumbly mature cheddar.
Next time schedule your trip for Wisconsin. They have entire fairs based around cheese. But nothing goes on a burger like processed American cheese that comes with each slice wrapped in its own plastic.
Probably the biggest problem was the selection of places you were cursed with. Better restaurants use fresh real ingredients. Especially artisan products like cheese. But don’t worry, we’ve almost taken over Europe with processed, factory made food. Their kids are becoming as fat as ours. So by your next trip, there’s a good chance we will be exporting more of our crap to your part of the world. So you’ll feel more at home next visit!
