I'm so sorry. I've been through losing grandparents, but not a parent, yet. I can't even fathom what you, and especially your fiancé are going through.

Thank you everyone. This is a very difficult time. I am trying to hold it together so my fiancee does not see me cry, as she is an emotional wreck. It really hit me when I came down to their house. Walking in and she is not there. I know she can now rest without pain, but I still feel my pain nonetheless.

I appreciate everyone's support, prayers, and well wishes. Thank you everyone.

I'm am terribly sorry to hear about this. If there is anything I can do to help, I am around. I'm the closest IP'r & RC'r to you, so of course I/my team can help assist you with any projects you have going, but if you just need to get out and chat, I'm only a call/text away bro.
Regards,
JT

Believe it or not there will be a time you can look back and be glad she is out of pain. Losing both my parents recently I really can relate.

Don't get me wrong, I am thankful she is no longer in pain. We all are. It is what is getting us through this. It doesn't take our pain away though. That will take time.

I am 6 months out from my mom passing, 4 from my dad. Nothing prepares you for the pain you are going through. It took a few months before things got easier. I still shed a tear here and there, that is part of being human. It is getting easier though.

when my grandfather passed away, I bought a large pack of handkerchiefs, and stuffed as many as I could in every pocket, without it being obvious. Then during the services and stuff, I had them for my wife, my mother, and others when they started crying. They worked better than Kleenex, and at the time it kept me some what occupied so I didn't break down on them too.

I'll send wishes for you and your family. I lost my 76 year old mother the middle of last year, so I can certainly understand what you might be going through.

I do suggest putting off any changes to plans, like your wedding. You are likely pretty distraught at the moment, and may find that in a month or two, you have a different outlook. Watch out for her spouse, I know my mom's death really hit my dad pretty hard. It's more important than ever to be together as a family, available to each other.

I still get choked up on occasions, when something brings to mind a memory, and I remember that I can't just call and talk with her. But it is getting a bit easier to look past the sorrow, and remember how lucky I was to have as many years and such a great relationship with her. I'm sure you'll get there in time...

I am so sorry for your loss. I think I hate death more than anything on this earth, it it is a thief and a robber, and it steals time and relationships from us. I lost my mother many years ago, and I often think what a loss, never getting to see her grandchildren grow up. I lost my dad eight years ago, and though he didn't know anything about the a/v business, he was always a wise resource for questions about business and life in general. Losing your parents gives you a sense of your own mortality when you become the older generation.

I know this will not ring true for that many people, but one of my favorite verses in the Bible is in the final book, where it says, "and death and hell were thrown into the lake of fire." Goodbye stinkin' death.

Give yourself lots of time, the tears of grief will over time be replaced with tears of joy and thankfulness, just like Brian said. Take care.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Thanks everyone. Spent a good hour and a half last night trying to console my fiancee who was crying hysterically until she was just too tired and fell asleep. Today is the wake and it will be a very difficult day to get through.
