You and your family will be heavily in my thoughts today.

Yeah, wow, 64 is too darn young to die. Feeling for you, your fiance and extended family today.

From reading all your posts, she went through the ringer the last 6 months. Unless any of us have been through that kind of grind (I have not), it is difficult to say how we could get through that type of fight. Not sure I could make it either.

Thanks. The only solace I take is that this all happened quick. It all started after the new year. It's difficult from a selfish standpoint because we didn't have much time with her after the diagnosis, but as much as she suffered, I'd hate to have her had gone through that for an extended period of time.

From the day we found out my dad had cancer to the day he died was 9 days. Seemingly ok no real signs prior to the doctors visit.

Been through this 3 times so far, last one probably not that far off.

They keep telling us we are living longer these days, I am not seeing it.

I feel for you and yours, its sucks no matter how you look at it.

I will continue to keep you in our thoughts while you heal, if you want to talk you have my number.

My step dad dies of PArkinsons. IT took about 7 years to kill him and the last year was pretty tough to watch. It makes some cancers ollk like a walk in the park. My real dad died of pneumonia. That was short and quick. Checked into the hospital sick, and checked out 4 days later with a toe tag.

Both my mom's are still alive, both will be 79 this year. My real mom may not be around very long. She fell and broke her ankle a month ago (AFTER FALLING AND BREAKING HER HIP 2 YEARS AGO) and contracted pneumonia, MRSA in the hospital. And battled anemia, high BP, high blood sugar and respiratory issues in the 2 weeks she was in the hospital.

But she was released into a rehab facility 10 days ago, where they will rehab her (PT, etc...) so that she can put weigh on that ankle again and walk.

I am driving to Colorado (where she lives) to help my sister move her out of her apartment and into my sister's place. She is NOT going back home, ever. And the old bat is too stubborn to die. Every year is a gift, as I did not think she would be around this long. I have high doubts she will live to see 83, but time will tell

Golden,
I'm sorry for your loss. That is a positive way to look at it. Losing somebody no matter what is hard . I buried my grandfather this morning so I know a little bit of what you are going but it must be 10x harder when they are taking so young.

Keep your head up and remember she is in a better place.

Just wanted to post here about our upcoming Hope in Motion walk we will be doing to benefit the Bennet Cancer Center in Stamford, CT. This facility does a fantastic job of supporting Cancer patients, survivors and their families as they deal with this terrible disease. We will be participating in this walk on the day after what would have been our wedding day, had we continued with the original date. We cancelled the wedding when Nancy fell gravely ill. We wanted her to be there.

Anyway, if anyone would like to make a small donation to our team, it would be very much appreciated. Of course do not feel obligated in any way, but know if you do it is going to a worthy cause to a great facility.

Very sorry. Been there twice. Time does heal. Stay strong and accept my sympathy.

Sorry to hear the news, as Bruce said time does help. I am 6 months removed from my dad passing and 7 months from my mom. Reading things like this still bring a tear to my eye, when something like would not before.

Its unbearable at first. But, you just have to trust in time. Myself, and your comrades here are all so sorry for you and your fiancé's loss--- but count your blessings, you have someone who really loves you, and visa - versa---that is very fortunate. Just imagine if you didn't have someone like that in your life at this moment, and she didn't either. You are blessed in that regard. Lean on each other. Going it alone, or without someone's love and support, is all that much more painful. This will only bring you two closer together, trust me. As unbelievable as it seems today...good times are coming, and the world will be a brighter place for you very soon.
You'll be married soon, that is a pretty damn wonderful thing to look forward to, and will speed the healing process.

Thank you to Mac and Raz for your donations. It's very much appreciated. Raz, I see you are in Westchester. You are welcome to come participate in the walk as part of our team if you would like. Either way, the donation is appreciated. Thanks guys.
