Some of you know that my future mother in law was recently diagnosed with a form of endocrine cancer. I wish I could say that her chemo treatment is going smoothly, but she is having a very rough time. She has been emitted to the hospital twice since her first round of chemo started and has been in for a week this time. Despite not eating she has gained ten pounds as her systems are all out of whack.

I'm not a very religious person but am humble enough to reach out and ask for prayers when they are truly needed. She is a great woman who has treated me like her own son for years and the pain this is causing those that I love is unbearable. Please if you can find a little time to pray for her, it would be most appreciated. Thank you everyone in advance.

Thanks guys. She has dedicated her life to taking care of others as a mother, aunt, grandmother, and for over 30 years as a school nurse taking care of other people's kids. Her name is Nancy.

Strangely, I just finished watching the movie "The Fault in our Stars". At the risk of sounding completely shallow, it might be worth watching because it puts a lot of things into perspective in a very nice way. It's obviously not going to help her. But what will be will be and, ultimately, all you can really do is decide how you will deal with it. That sounds perhaps cruel, but it's true. For those who die, their troubles are over, there's no need to grieve for them. They may even be the lucky ones. We are really grieving our own loss, and it's maybe important to keep that in mind, little comfort that it may be in the immediate term. Understanding that perhaps more of the process is within our own control might be of some utility, if not relief.

Sorry if that was completely inappropriate, it's hard to know what to say in such circumstances.

You're on the prayer list here, too. Blessings to your mom Nancy. Patience to all of you.

I don't pray or send vibes or anything like that. Sometimes i wish i did/could. The best i can do is offer my support and keep you and your family in my thoughts. Cancer is a horrible thing. Never give up.
