Hello everyone,

Just thought I'd share. I have a pretty cool device in my current TSU7000 configuration file for the IR543. Buttons light up and everything now! :-P I know, not such a big deal :-) , but I like it anyway. Finally stopped being so lazy and created pressed states for the buttons like I should have done originally. I even created a full 16x9 version while I was at it. I use my IR543 via a RF extender, so the remote does not need to remain upright as line of sight is not required. Anyway, it can be downloaded here if interested.

This evening I did up a .pcf file for TSU3000 owners which only includes my IR543 device. If interested it can be downloaded below. Enjoy!

All that I have to say is that you are the man!!! Great looking files, Im just really getting deep into the program, dont really know what you mean when you convert a pcf to a ccf or what in the heck a ppeng is. Have you converted your whole file over for a 3000? thanks

Thanks for the kudos! :-)

PCF (.pcf) stands for Pronto NG Configuration File. Both the TSU3000 and TSU7000 use this format. There is not unified editor support at this time however. Each remote has their own editor.

PENG = ProntoEdit NG (TSU3000 Editor)
PPENG = ProntoProEdit NG (TSU7000 Editor)

(The .ccf file type is an older file type used by the earlier generation remotes. This type of file can only be imported into PENG or PPENG.)

You can not open a .pcf file saved in PPENG in PENG unfortunately without making a couple small edits to the .pcf file first. Once these edits have been made the .pcf file will then open in PENG fully in tact for use with your TSU3000. The steps required to do this are documented here.

Please keep in mind a couple things however regarding this ...
The TSU7000 has 8 times the memory capacity that the TSU3000 has. You will need to make sure you reduce the file size of any given .pcf file in PENG, so that it downloads to the remote. If a given .pcf file loads in the emulator this is an indictation that it will also download to the remote.

My .pcf file is using 99% of the available memory in the TSU7000. That's around 28 megs or so. As such, you will need to hack out quite a bit from my .pcf file once you convert it and have it opened in PENG. It is also very important of course that you are running the very latest firmware for the TSU3000 and using the latest version of PENG.

Found it and checked it out ... you've come a long way! How do you have so much time on your hands?

So, I see you are taking advantage of IR duration with X10. How is that working for you? Have you found a coorelation between the actual brightness level with different lengths of the duration?

I also see that you discovered that the X10 ir codes are different for the X10 ir-to-rf back to ir codes.

It's not that I have so much time on my hands. I just don't sleep! :-P I thought I was going to sleep two weekends ago finally. The plan was to give my endless .pcf file tinkering a break for once. That did not happen. I ended up spending the better part of a day and a half adding this to my .pcf. It never ends! There is no cure for the Pronto addict. :-)

I have not attempted to correlate how many dimming steps any given IR duration equals when used with the dim and bright codes. I just created some additional bright IR codes with durations, so that I could bring the lights up very slightly when pausing a movie, more so when stopping, and then bringing them all the way down when pressing play again. Works well.

I setup my DVD transport control pages in such a way that I can toggle between the basic pause, stop, and play functions and those with the lighting control built in. Pretty sweet functionality to have now considering I still have just the IR543. Simulating the length of a button press for any given IR code via the Pronto is awesome!

Lowpro, the link to your pcf has been removed. Are you working on an update? I would be very interested in viewing your pcf.
Thanks,

Steve

Sorry Lowpro, but if you mean this one on the 'DVD Jacket' topic (Lastest PCF as of 08-06-2005 can be downloaded, here.), it just links back to that same topic.

Hit up this link again bud. The reply it takes you to in the "DVD Jacket Displayed" thread does contain the download link for my .pcf file. It's right there at the top of that reply. Enjoy! :-)

Hello

I have a Pronto NG ....and I just bought the IR543. I want to be able to turn on/off an 8 way Pelican A/V switch using my Pronto NG and also turn on/off a 250Watt RCA amplifier. I am assuming this can be accomplished using the IR543 :) and the Pronto NG? right?
