Lowpro,
I'm following this thread very closely and am really impressed by the amount of work you've put into the PCF file here. I'm sure I'll be "borrowing" the work you've done here to accomodate my system as well. I do have a question as to the hookup for the 3 changers though.
How are these incorporated into your system? Are you using S-video to the receiver and using inputs like VCR-1, VCR-2, DVD etc. to work all 3 players into it? And what about the audio? I have a Yamaha 2095 which accomodates several input types and I was thinking of using the VCR inputs to hook up eventually 2 other DVD units similar to yours. Curious!
Thanks, Pat

Lowpro, Just a couple of file size questions. I finished my pcf with 2% space remaining. I resized/optomized and reworked everything. The file before downloading first time into Pronto was about 5 mg. After download/upload file size shows to be 2.6 mg. and 2% space. No way I could even begin to load in DVD covers. Any ideas? thanks, gary

Thanks, Pat My home theatre receiver has 2 component video inputs. One of the inputs I use for my Xbox. The other input I use for my HDTV A/V switch, the Zektor HDS4 which is IR controllable. I run the component and optical outputs of each changer and my HD DIRECTV Receiver to the switch and from there to my home theatre receiver. From my home theatre receiver I run the component video output to my projector via a component video to vga cable. -Lowpro This message was edited by Lowpro on 04/23/05 10:20 ET.

Long time reader (4 years) 1st post. I also would like to thank you and many others for posting your hard work for hobbyists like myself to learn and benefit from. I'm a bit short on eyesight and am interested in your "alternate" PCF with 9 jackets displayed instead of 16, which I have trouble seeing. I'll watch for the link!

I use 256 color bitmaps throughout my pcf file and with the 16 limited megs available right now the file I've posted here does download to the remote. It's file size is dramatically larger than yours as you describe it. The file size you detail should not be an issue in any case if you are downloading to a TSU7000, irrespective of the fact that the size of your .pcf is not the size of the file downloaded to the remote. This will vary from .pcf to .pcf file. -Lowpro

When you say easter egg page you do just mean hidden links or a combination of button presses to take you to a hidden area, yes? I just have a few hidden buttons here and there with my current .pcf file which take you to certain pages unavailable anywhere else and so forth. Nothing really to show you per se. -Lowpro

Did you say 16 million colors? :-P If you are using 16 mil. images your .pcf file is certainly not optimized to get the most out of the memory in the remote. The image quality will not degrade that much if you reduce your images to 256 color. In turn, this will reduce the size of your .pcf file dramatically. Once the 32 meg firmware update comes out you'll have all the breathing room you need hopefully. -Lowpro
