I see I wasn't the only one who fell for this foolishness. I just got taken today by a couple of guys in a white van. And like others, I knew better, but greed got me. I was really bothered by the purchase and now I know why.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Realize that you just paid your first semester tuition in the School of Hard Knocks. I paid for college and grad school and learned a lot but the money you pay in this school REALLY teaches you some lessons.(Yes, I 've paid there too)

about Ten years ago.. When I arrived at the state attorney general's home (the AG that was in the office at the time) to pull wire and mount speakers thru out, he told me, "hey, don't worry about the speakers for my office, I got a killer deal for some on the way back from work". "..these two cool guys in a van were practically giving these things away...."

Boy, that was funny. I couldn't keep much of a straight face as he asked me how well he did. In this case, I don't really think it mattered if he went right to the top and complained to himself.

How in the heck did all you guys find this forum? The above story is true but you all must be having a great time pulling our legs. I just laughed my pants off (or should I put them back on and light a candle?).

On the sensitive side, the lesson didn't seem to cost too much, eh?

I too have been had. Well I agree, it is not really a scam. A scam would be if I walked away without looking in the box and found a box of rocks. Instead I found a subwoofer controlled system. I think with all us idiots buying this shit, were not gonna be able to sell it on ebay. I might as well just get a 5.1 channel output DVD player for 130 dollars in addition to the 300 i spent and learn from the situation. I bought mine also from two dudes in a white truck, but they were from chicago not texas. Ah well, same story all over i guess. The speakers aren't that bad, maybe I'll keep 'em around.

I too have fallen victim to this scam, I bought the theater logic speakers. This was in the Galleria area of Houston. I must say, those two guys in that GMC Envoy have set up a pretty thorough scam, and for that I give them props. But at the same time, I have their address, lisc. #, and know what they look like, and lets just say they are going to be in alot of pain soon.

same thing happened to me in california. 3 guys in a black 4runner. showed me a packing slip, magizine. they even pulled it out and we looked at the system for a while. they evidently took me for $420 (which seemed like a great deal since it was $2500 in the magizine). i haven't hooked the system up yet, but hopefully i can at least get some sound out of my costly mistake. i knew better, but it's hard to resist such a "deal". BEWARE!

I just saw a website that handles the L-6 system, and you can order spare parts from them also. Maybe even another remote.
check out www.eltax.com, and check the home theater systems.
Good luck.
need a little help here

Assuming we're talking of the same thing, here, for those interested, is a price for the Eltax Logic 6; i.e. roughly $90.00.

Its amazing how willing people are to show how stupid they are capable of being. The worst part is the rationalizing they make after they realize the mistake. "Well, they don't really sound that bad." Dude, you got scammed. You bought a $90.00 set of speakers for $250-400. These are the same people that will beat me up all day for a free $40.00 fiber optic cable, or a percentage off of a "real" set of speakers, because "they know the markup".

Sorry you got scammed, but what do you expect, you bought speakers from some dudes in a white van in a parking lot. If its too good to be true, your damn right it is.

The only saving grace to all your stories of heartache is that it makes entertaining reading.

P.S. If you really want to get these guys back, or do something constructive, you shouldn't buy stuff from shady individuals in the first place, whether it be from a van in the parking lot, or crazy joe's on the internet. If you don't give these guys any money, they will go out of business eventually.

Or a receiver with 5.1 pre-outs.
