Rob

How many times a day do you read/check out these forums?

I check atleast once a day.

Just wondering.

P.S. My folks where here and not only could they manage to work the TV, but they were able to watch movies with my kids. In not only the VCR, but also my PC-DVD, and get the reciever to play the DVD in DoblyDigital. Only "my" movies are DTS.
And if that weren't enough... they figured out how to program in "their" radio station on the tuner.
All this with ONE remote. And you supplied the webpage that showed me how to set this WONDERFUL REMOTE up.

Thanks again,
Schlepp

Greg, thank you for your email.

We regret that there are no plans for an upgrade program for this remote

Thank You,

***Nother thing: I would love if the transport controls were above the number keys, right under the cursor controls. That and more memory and I don't think you could get too much better a button remote!!! -Greg

Hey this is a great thread, I have jsut purchased this remote and am getting started programmimg. However, I can't seem to find an advanced code set for my Panasonic Superflat TV. It uses code a base code of 0051 but I can't find the advanced on starbase or stormloader. Anybody know where I can get these?

Thanks,
Tom

If you know the base code you're well on your way. Assuming that there's no advanced codes listed on my site, you should try and find a ccf file for a similar device to the one you have on the Pronto files section (just click on FILES in the menu bar on this page) and downloaded it. Then go to the Pronto utilities section and download a program called ccf2efc (written by John Fine). This program will find the EFC's (advanced codes) for you.

The easiest way to run it is to create a shortcut to it on your Windows desktop and then drag the ccf file onto the icon for ccf2efc. It will create a text file of the same name in the directory that you put the ccf file in. There will be alot of info in the that you won't understand, but try and find the device and then look for "EFC".

Tom:
You clear out a macro by programming an empty macro.

Hank:
It looks like Meridian uses the Philips RC-5 signals, so my guess is that there might be a Philips device code that will work, I will need to confirm this from home.

Thanks Rob,
Below is the link on the meridian web page for the pronto codes. I tried the ccf2efc with the meridian ccf file and got errors. Went ahead and purchased the 15-1994. Worst case I can get it to do cable box, LD, DVD,VCR, and TV. FYI the Meridian component is a 565. Thanks again.

I downloaded a couple of Meridian files from the Pronto section, that's how I could tell that they use RC-5 signals. I don't have RC-5 signals notated on the file that I have here at work, but I do have a file at home that has some RC-5 signals listed on it, it's just a question of whether the device codes in the 15-1994 that use RC-5 have the right device codes in them (which looks likes it's device 19).

Sorry to say, but I didn't find a device 19 among the RC-5 codes that I have already identified (but that doesn't mean there isn't one). I found a devices 18 and 20, close but no cigar!

Rob,
Thanks for the effort. Now that I am home I have already gotten the tv, vcr, and cable box programmed. Was unsucessful in programming my dvd (Sony DVP-S550D) and the Laserdisc (Pioneer CLD-S104) Any suggestions? Also, what is my best option on the Meridian now? If Learning is it can you advise me on the most efficent approach with power on for the remote imbeded in the source key (press LD all meridian comes alive ready for ld play, press dvd ditto, and so on). My first thought is to use the CD key for cd and the 4 soft keys for the others. is this the best approach? Will I have space for macros afterwards? Thanks for the help.

Rodrigo,
Those codes are for a receiver, but by all means give that device code a shot. To answer the question as to what are they and what do they do, read the manual on my site and check the advanced code section for even more details. I won't be able to say it anymore clearer here than I did there.

Hank,
Re: the Meridan, it does look like learning is your only option, but remember you can learn to almost any key. If the Meridan lacks a true power on key, program the power off key to the power button and program the direct selects to whatever buttons make the most sense to you, if you can think of logical buttons, use the smart keys.

Re: the other gear, if you can locate a file in the pronto files section for any of these devices, download it. Then download John Fine's ccf2efc utility. Create an icon for ccf2efc on your desktop, then drag the downloaded ccf file onto the icon. It will create a text file detailing the IR protocol and list the EFC's (advanced codes). Then either post the IR protocol here or email it to me and I'll look it up, if you can't make sense of the files, just email them to me.
