Still running my 3 TSU7000's. Had to pull apart and reseat the touchscreen contacts on one of them, plus I'm on my 4th set of battery packs per unit, but I'm still chugging away happily.

Still prefer to use these rather than have microphones listening to everything in my house, waiting for me to say (or misinterpreting what I say) the keywords to control my lights and home theater.

Curious how many people are still using these remotes, there might be more (like me) that simply use them, and don't check in here very often.

I'm still using my 2 TSU7000s with little to no issues. Love them, BUT currently migrating everything to a tablet based remote control so that I can integrate all the IP based stuff I now have. I wish there was a different way, but....

I do find somedays, as I get older, that I always seem to sit where ever the remote is NOT located. I guess that's how I ended up with 3 of them, haha. I run a pretty rudimentary home automation system, X10 based (still) through an IR543 and my TSU7000's but it does what I need it to do. I have never really needed to control things while out and about, so never seen the need to move to an IoT app based model. Maybe as I get older. I'll try and keep this ol' system running as long as I can.

The funniest thing I saw was 6 months ago, a buddy of mine trying to get alexa to turn his lights off - all the time standing right next to the wall switch

Yeah, pizazz is nice. Consider having control of all lights for a home theatre. It's highly likely that there's a gang of switches right next to the door as you walk in. Not too terribly difficult to get up out of the seat and flip a switch.

As Insteon and X10 are pretty much dead, as each of my Insteon/X10 switches die (have lost 3 so far), I'm replacing them with the Good Ole Leviton 20th century switches as I found that I too can get up off my butt and flip a switch. My cardiologist will be happy, wife will be happy, life will be better. Exercise!!!

I agree. I did stock up on light switches and appliance modules so I'm hoping I'll be good for a few years yet. I got all the X10 bugs out (95%), but seriously, I spent 10 times more time trying to get the system working than what I would have spent just getting up to flip the switch, haha. I see that these days as well. Another friend's smart bulbs stopped working because of a failed firmware update in his hub I think. He gave up trying to fix, tossed them and bought new.

I bug my girlfriends daughter - she has a gym membership, and when she goes to the gym, she drives up and down the parking lot, looking for a spot closest to the door. Get out and walk! haha
