Well, I love my 5000i and have begun to rely heavily on it's ability to simplify use of my system by others (the 'spousal factor'). However, I'm stumped on a problem because I don't have discrete codes for speaker setup on my receiver. I'm sure you're wondering "Why is this a problem ... don't you just set up the speakers once?" Well, no. Here's the situation:

- I have two listening areas ... the home theatre and my music room.

- I have different speaker setups ... the h/t has a subwoofer and 'small' left/right speakers (and surround); the music room has 'large' left/right speakers and no sub or surround.

- I have a remote controllable speaker switch (Niles RSL-6)

- Sooo ... I need to change between 'small+ sub' and 'large + no sub' each time I switch speakers (with my beloved 5000i)

- The rub ... the speaker setup menu on the SR-19EX has 'toggle' selections for small/large and for sub yes/no. And of course I can't guarantee the state of the setup at any point in time.

If anyone has discrete codes for the setup menu items, or knows a place to look for codes, or knows a Marantz contact, or can clue me into a reasonable experimentation path (trying RC5/6 codes randomly doesn't seem reasonable), I would be hugely appreciative.

PS: I suspect that SR-14, SR-14EX, SR-18, SR-18EX, and SR-19 codesets are viable candidates for the SR-19-EX as well.

I have the SR-18EX and the complete code list for the SR-14EX (both higher models) and what you're looking for doesn't exist. I would have also liked direct speaker level adjustment codes, instead of the "Speaker" toggle button. Not there, alas. The only other initially interesting code I could find was "Volume Reset", which I thought might set the volume control down to nil -- which it does, along with every other customized level!

Thanks, Daniel. This of course wasn't the answer I was hoping for. When you say "doesn't exist" do you mean that the receiver doesn't support it, or that the codes don't exist in the public domain?

Do you have any ideas on a workaround?

I'd be interested in your complete code list anyway -- may not solve the current problem for me, but I might find other useful stuff. If you can share it, please email to me.

This is a pretty "non public domain" list, so I'd have to say they simply don't exist. As in were never thought of. :-)

I have a similar problem, perhaps even stranger:
I bought a Marantz SR-14MkII recently, because I had to replace a Pioneer VSA-AX10i because one of its D/A blew, which renders the unit total economic loss.
The SR-14 is awesome. I came with its original golden remote. However, the remote has one problem: the lower half of its LCD is blind! So, I can't enter the setup (to change speaker sizes etc.) because I can't see the button on the touch screen and there is no physical button on the SR-14 itself.
So, I got myself a newer Pronto Neo TSAU500 and successfully went through the pains of installing a serial device on a computer that has no COM1 and runs Win7 using the old software from 2003. What can I tell you: It really does work!
However, the IR code set 0296 won't operate my SR-14 or my other Marantz AV8003. (BTW: The latter remote will control only basic functions of the SR-14, but not enter setup.)
So, I would really really appreciate if you could send me a code set that I can load into the Pronto Neo that I can try with my SR-14. I promise to make a donation.

No. Not possible to move configurations between 5000i and NEOEdit. I'd strongly recommend getting another remote as the NEO was very limited.

If you are looking @ a config for RC5000i, you will likely need to install ProntoEdit or TouchScreenSetup and then copy/paste the IVR codes between the 2 editors.

There's another utility that will dump a CCF configuration to a text file.

You can then use Notepad/Notepad++ to get the codes you want and put them into NEOEdit. I'm hoping NEOEdit will handle the legacy Pronto CCF Code format.

If I recall correctly, NeoEdit does not support Pronto Hex, but the Marantz software version does. It might be possible to use NeoHacker (if it still works) to swap files back and forth and paste hex codes. Not the best solution, though - the Neo is not really compatible with the main Pronto series, so it’ll make things unnecessarily hard.
