We have a file in the JP1 world for the Coolsat 4000 but I don't know if the 5000 uses the same code or not.

The 4000 code uses the NEC1 protocol with a device code of 1, which matches several OFA setup codes, but I would need to know which remote you are using in order to know which setup codes might be in your remote.

Picking some common OFA remotes, here are some of the matching setup codes...

DVD/0711
URC-8811
URC-8910
URC-7562 B01

TV/0717
URC-9960 B00

Using either of these two setup codes, the POWER button should work. If it does, check the rest of the buttons to see if any of them do the right thing, then use the advanced codes listed below for the rest of the buttons:

054 num 0
185 num 1
183 num 2
182 num 3
180 num 4
184 num 5
186 num 6
053 num 7
055 num 8
059 num 9
248 (blue)
167 (yellow)
187 mute
246 page up
056 page down
181 power
117 menu
245 guide
249 info
121 exit
120 up arrow/ +ch
118 down arrow/ -ch
116 left arrow/ -vol
122 right arrow/ +vol
119 ok
123 sat
052 tv/radio
170 recall
169 audio
247 pause

Thanks for the reply Rob.

I have an old 7800 cinema 7 (still my favorite) None of the codes you listed worked, at least not in the aux position I was using.

Looks like I will have to upgrade to a newer remote...too bad I have finally got the family all trained on that one.

Looks like a new Kamelon and a jp1 is in my future

Thanks again,

btw I have confirmed that the 5000 and 4000 use the same codes

You're right, there's not a single NEC1-dev1 code in the URC-7800. You know, you could always use JP1 to program the URC-7800 if you want, but if you're in the market for a JP1 equiped Kameleon, I have them available (did the mod myself, no less).

Bump

Apparently Coolsat is oem'd by a Hyundai receiver factory.

There's supposedly only one or two OneForAll remote's that are "straight up" compatible with Hyundai satellite receivers and one of them is the URC 6131 (not the 6131n though) and the code is 1011 (i'm not referring to setting up a learning remote btw).

You can pick up the URC 6131 on ebay for around $10 shipped. I would recommend you purchase it first from a retail store since you could return the remote in case it does not work. You can search the OneForAll home website for their other remote that's compatible with hyundai recievers (i forget which other remote it was).

I got this info from a fellow in another forum who claims it works perfectly with a Coolsat 5000, I cannot vouch for this info personally. If i decide to try it myself i'll be sure to update this thread. Your mileage may vary.

BTW, there are inexpensive coolsat replacement remotes being sold on ebay for around $14 shipped. His ebay name is "portportal" and his ebay store is called "DVB-MART"

Edit: apparently both the 6131 and 6131N are compatible with the coolsat, read further for more info.

SAT/1011 is indeed an NEC1 dev1 code, so this will probably also work with the Coolsat 4000.

From a code point of view, the URC-6131 and URC-6131n are exactly the same, so if a code is one of them, it's in the other.

All the other remotes that have SAT/1011 included are European models:
URC-3440
URC-6562 B01
URC-8060
URC-8206

Thanks for the info Robman, though i'm still not sure how similar the 6131 and 6131n really are, mostly because of their physical differences and their different code sheets:

But then again, i don't know much about them either. Btw, The URC-3220 doesn't appear to be compatible with the coolsat 5000(?) can't get it to work for the life of me anyway. Don't really like the look of the 6131 so i'll probably end up getting something else. The 6131n would be nice but i'm hoping for definite confirmation (?)

I can absolutely guarantee you 100% that the URC-6131 and URC-6131 are identical (from a programming and software point of view) the only difference is in their physical appearance. This is regardless of what info may or may not appear in their printed manuals or on the OFA web site. Hopefully that's definitive enough for you! :)

Also, I could pre-load the code into any of the JP1 remotes that I offer for sale on my web site if the 6131 doesn't appeal.

Bought and tested the 6131n, and it works like a charm, thanks again for the good info Robman.

btw: Got this info from another forum but it looks like we have another compatible remote, the urc-8820 programmed as a hyundai "vcr" using the vcr code: 1951

That now gives us three choices:

The urc-6131n, using satellite code 1011
The urc-6131, using satellite code 1011
The urc-8820, using "vcr" code 1951 (edit: corrected)

that last entry should be URC-8820, not URC-8220. Here's a list of other UEI setup codes that are also NEC, dev 1, so if you have one of these in your remote, it might also work...

The codes discussed here are for remote controls, not for stealing premium channels.
