Hello. I would like to setup my Nevo SL to control my x10 lighting (x10 switches). I have the IR543 and a Nevo link. Through Nevo Studio I have installed the x10 pages (under home automation), buttons but when I click on them (example: On or Off) within Nevo Studio the Action is simply “on” or “off”. My switches throughout the house are defined as A2, A3, A4, A5…

How do I get the Nevo to issue these remote IR commands to the IR543. From my home page I want to click say a light bulb which jumps me to a page with my lighting zones, kitchen A2, living A3, family A4, den A5… I called Nevo support and they told me I have to first learn them from an x10 remote, but weren't really sure.

Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

no experience here but if you have the original remote you can easily learn any functions that arent there by default.

Is there an X-10 device available via the upper right Drop down menu? When selected, mine shows X-10 IR's available: 0-16 & on/off, bight, dim, disarm. I use the IR543 and it works great.

I'll check when I get home from work. You didn't mention about which house code it would use. Is house code "A" the only option? So if you wanted to turn your A2 Lamp on the IR actions would be:

Send IR (2)
Send IR (on)

Essentially.

Thanks,

Mike

Yeah, I'll look when I'm home to confirm, but the letter code must be permaently set (switch maybe?). anyways last night when looking at my Nevo file it only showed that it sends a numeric command (0-16) and then on,off, dim, etc.

I'll follow up later

Well, I looked on the IR543 itself and there's no alpha-switch. I'll have to play with it a bit further to figure it out. I will say I had absolutely no stuggles at all to get it going. The switches around my house are also coded alphanumerically, so I have the same setup that you do. Prior to setting up your X-10 screens, did you use the 'ADD DEVICE' utility in the top right corner of the NevoStudio screen to add in the IR543?

Thanks ckelly33 for the posts.
I got things working. The IR543 does have a wheel on the top right that you can use to change the house code example A,B,C...the Nevo will simply send the module code 1,2,3,4 and function on,off,dim... and doesn't care what the house code is.

Steps as you described with some added detail:

Using Nevo Studio
-add device (Home Automation/X10)
-Created pages/buttons as neccessary
-Add actions to your buttons: example to turn on my living room lamp, 2 being the lamp module
Send IR (2) X10 IR543
Send IR (Power On) X10 IR543

Note: sub these ( ) brackets for these < > freak'n HTML
