well first off i'd like to say what an EXCELLENT product this is. and it is perfectly complimented by and extremely intuitive and easy to use program!

i think i may only have one question so far (i've had many but can proudly say i overcame them on my own) -what if the device you want to program isnt listed on the nevo site? i have 2 DVD players (one HD upscaler and the other a DVD HDD Recorder -both LG) and neither exact devices are listed but of course there being many other lg products i just chose the closest one and learn whatever functions i need to. this turned into a bit of a pain for the HDD drive as i discovered last night none of the transport functions work, so i guess whatever LG device i chose wasnt that close after all -but i will just learn all the transport funtions -which leads me to my question -is the the best thing to do? or am i better to delete the device all together and try and find somthing closer? also what if you cant find a device thats even close -ie: my Xbox 360 and my HP Digital Entertainemnt Centre PC? which so happen there original remotes will control eachother -anyway -is this where i would search for HEX CODES? what are Hex codes? i guess there was a few questions after all -thanks alot guys! Christian

Glad you're happy with your choice Christian. You stress over it quite a while.

1. Just learn the IR's.
2. For the XBox-I used the Media Center PC template and learned the fcodes that I had to learn. Works great!

Chris

btw, I sent you some XBox code via your email.

a couple more questions.... how do you, or can you change the color of the buttons? also i used my nevo for about 6hrs last night and the battery died. forcing me to dig up my old remotes. odbviosly not good. i hope this will be rectified when i download the update -my concern is i thought the battery life issues were based around wifi use? i dont use the wifi at all.

I use mine for days without wifi. Does the WiFi icon (((i))) show up at the top of your screnn? If so, you are using WiFi, you just aren't utilizing WiFi. Turn it off in the tools menu (i think) inside Nevo studio then sync it and charge it up. It'll go for a while.

If you turn off WiFi completely, you'll get no "(((i)))" icon at the top of your remote's screen.

I use Adobe Photoshop to open Nevo's standard buttons and modify them, resize them, make new ones or whatever. I then save them as a separate file within the same folder so they are easy to find. Just don't forget to save your altered file as a .png or you won't be able to use it with NevoStudio. If you aren't familiar with Adobe Photoshop (or whatever came with your computer) spend a few hours with it here and there. I think it have a steeper learning curve than Nevo easily BUT its basic functions can be learned just by tinkering with it.

FYI, i was able to turn off wifi altogether as you suggested chris and problem solved!! also thanks again for sending me your layout! i was able to cut and paste alot of your unique buttons -AWESOME work on the xbox buttons!! i'll email you my setup so you can see what i've come up with. i dont have adobe, the only program i have is paint shop which seems a little archaic for this type of aplication, anyway - thanks again chris, tt you later.

No problem Christian. I look forward to seeing your file. There are always good ideas to be had. Hopefully Daiel Tonks will get enough inquiries to get the Nevo sharing section up and running.

ckelly,

got my nevo sl about 2 months ago and love it. was using the embedded nevo on my ipaq before that. i, too, would be interested in the xbox 360 codes and buttons that you have come up with if you don't mind sending them to me. I could buy the controller and have the nevo learn the codes but i don't really want to spend $40 on another controller that i will use just once.

going to set up my nevo link this weekend to see how it works.

thanks in advance.

i coppied his Xbox buttons and will email you my configuration tonite. i actually found i still had to learn the button commands from the 360 remote so it doesnt hurt to have us both send them in case his doesnt work.
