These are fine features, but what about the "old" Nevo
SL. Things like browser function should work there too.
There is no additional hardware requirement I think.

The additions to NevoStudio Pro, will they work also with
Nevo SL?

WW,
That would be nice. I think Microsoft licensing fees might kill that deal. When the OS is created for a device the developer pays for each plug-in and its support. If the device only needs a firmware update and Microsoft grants a license for the old units that would be great.

My issue of Electronic House arrived today. The Q50 appears at the front of their universal remote article. They've also got a comparo feature chart that includes the S70 and Q50. I'm so glad that Zwave has made it onto these remotes. The chart didn't have WiFi shown but appears from earlier posts that must be an omission by EH.

Winfried you know the answer, you mentioned this in several threads all over the world.

NevoSL has its features and its open wishes, we all know that. No reason to roll up the same topic again and again. THIS, especially, is a thread for the NEW Nevos, not for crying about things you miss.

Things over and above the already mentioned about a new version of NevoStudio are actually confidential.

Sorry, I didn't knew, that it isn't allowed to talk about the some points in different forums. I will ask you the next time, whether it should post in a german forum, with only a few members, but in my mother language, or here, in a forum with a great amount of users (These are the "several threads worldwide"!)

We know, but does UE also? No comment in their old own forum, no repsonse to feature requests.
The new Nevo obviously will have some opportunities for web-browsing, why isn't it allowed to say, that this is a point, also should be available for the old ones. I think this point needs no additional hardware.

In this thread there is mentioned NevoStudio Pro (not in the topic, sure). Therefore I thought I could ask about the effects an Nevo SL too. I want to know whether it's time to sell my Nevo SL, because new features are only for the new ones and of course, it's an advantage for me to sell it as soon as possible because the price will go done at the moment the new ones will be available.

Sorry, if this response is quite "off topic", but I think a forum like this is for asking questions and posting statements. I thought after CEDIA there is more (non-confidental) information .

That's not what I meant. And I don't have to be asked for any of your actions.

What I wanted to say is, that the browser question has been discussed many times.
The NevoSL does not/won't support that feature.

so which do you all prefer? i like the look of the one with more hard buttons. as much as i love the look and customization of the T/S, i prefer pressing a hard button. is it just me or does it look a little slimmer?

I like both of them, but I think I would rather have the one with less hard buttons. I can pretty much do anything I want with the current NevoSL. I don't really have that much of a need for the extra buttons. Almost every button that I use repeatedly fits on the current Nevo's hardbuttons. I like the larger t/s to use larger buttons for numerics and for custom layouts.

The addiction to hardkeys increases with time of posession. After a while, when you calm down from your self-programmed touchscreen and other functions, the standard functionality becomes more and more important. and this is, for a remote, the easy and general command up/down for several things.

So, for people with a raised ambition for enhanced remotes, the smaller Q50 will be the most wanted solution. The big one is for the obsessed people, like the SL... ;)

Chris,

Thank you for your vote of confidence. Even if I do know, I cannot tell yet. New models are not announced in the US yet. Maybe I will have more info after the CEDIA conference, in early September.

For the time being, " I-know-nuthing", or said so beautifully by Schultz in Hogan's Hero's (for those old enough to remember the show.)

Regards...Dave
