A friend asked me to recommend a forum to answer his questions about high fidelity, stereo and other sound quality issues. Naturally, I turned to this crowd.

He's looking for answers to whether it's better to record FM off the air or streaming on the internet and he has other questions as well.

Your recommendations would be appreciated.

For people to help you would need to provide much more information such as
1 what stations does he want to record? (some might not be available on different ways of recieving Radio)
2 What equipment does he have?
3 How much is he prepared to spend?
4 Does he want to hear these recordings on the move?
5 What country are you from ?(the UK has DAB radio and that could be an option)

etc etc

What he wants to do is to ask his own questions. All I'm doing for him is asking for the proper forum. Other information is up to him to decide.

After searching this site I found 7,503 matching threads to high fidelity. I found 1,037 matching threads in the theatre forum.
I myself have asked many Hi-Fi related questions in that forum and have found the wealth of knowledge there amazing and very helpful. I’m sure your friend would find assistance in his quest for answers there.
The theater forum seems to be the best thread on this site for questions of this nature.Here in the intermission is also a good place too as the header says"The Intermission forum is for discussion of any topic not already covered by one of our many other boards " your enquiry isnt of a remote control nature and FM/radio recording isnt exactly a topic in the other boards.so someone might help your friend here too.Silly answers and jokes are usually posted here to questions that should have been posted in the appropriate board.

On a side note ... Over the years most sites have gone away from Hi-fi /only 2 channel forums. In the U.K. for example What Hi-Fi? Magazine (the most popular by sales Hi-Fi Mag) has become what Hi fi sound and vision magazine this is due to the massive uptake of AV but there are still many specialist sites and magazines.

Have you tried AVSforum.com I don't visit their audio side, and don't know what exactly it comprises but the rest of the forums there that I visit have top notch information and people, just like RC here.
