Yes, but we're only concerned between two ajoining posts... so "Hephaestus" would have to be unrelated to "wheel", but it doesn't really matter if "Hephaestus" is related to "Marigold" (two posts earlier) or "jive"

both are mammals not to mention it might be its lunch Daniel: I was not connecting desk lamp to lighting, I just use the same type of connection like you gave
pine tree (associated with Christmas and thus candy canes) the only reason I brought lighting into the conversation was to use the link you already created between the two words (i.e. being lazy)photons This message was edited by Anthony on 05/17/04 00:13.

I do think this works better as the "seemingly non-associative word thread" (S.N.A.W.T.), where words should APPEAR to be non-related until you look a little deeper...
Engine slap (piston slap) = a type of engine knocking caused by excessive clearance between the piston and cylinder wall.
sticks
(And I don't mean "stick" as in "slapstick")

Mr Grimsdale.
Should I now explain the seemingly non-associative link? Norman Wisdom, English actor/knock-about comedian, made numerous films during the 50's and 60's. A regular foil in these films was a character by the name of . . . Mr Grimsdale. PS He's now 89 years old and still making the odd appearance on TV - check out normanwisdom.co.uk

This is actually quite neat, since we find out how someone else would associate the two words where we wouldn't. However, I thing there needs to be a maximum of one or maybe two degrees of separation.
Otherwise you could associate anything with anything.
Car
Plasma
Car hits person who needs to be rushed to hospital since his blood plasma level is way to low.
Rock
Egg
Both are surrounded by toxic air while in Los Angeles.
Anyway, carry on!
