For those of us tired of merely associating words, here's a thread with the opposite goal in mind: words or phrases should APPEAR to be COMPLETELY UNRELATED to the previous one. Only YOU should know how the two relate (and it's up to us to figure it out). Remember, don't go overboard: the solution should make sense! For example: candy apple Obvious associations: orange (both a color and a fruit) car (they come candy apple red) teeth (cavities by too many candy apples) city (New York = big apple) holiday (receiving candy apples at Halloween) ...and so on. Not-so-obvious associations: pine tree (associatied with Christmas and thus candy canes) Michigan (their state flower is the apple blossom) Steve (Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak started Apple Computers) ...and so on. Before posting your seemingly non-related response, try to come up with some form of association between the previous two posts! To get the ball rolling: Lighting

I don't think EVERY word in the thread has to be unreleated (would run out quickly), just one post compared to the previous one. So "desk lamp" doesn't have to be unrelated to "lighting", just "tardigrade".sea urchin

Aha! Trying to put one past us, are you? Airplane! the movie included some rather interesting chararacters who spoke "Jive"."Would you gentlemen care to order your dinners?" "Bet, babe. Slide a piece o' da' porter. Drink side, run da' java." "Hey lookie here. I can dig grease 'n chompin' on some butter and draggin' through the garden." Marigold

I don't think EVERY word in the thread has to be unreleated (would run out quickly), just one post compared to the previous one. So "desk lamp" doesn't have to be unrelated to "lighting", just "tardigrade". that is what I assumed. but a desk lamp is used to produce light that is fast moving.... in the same way as your example pine tree (associatied with Christmas and thus candy canes)
ain't that whut this thred'z reely all about? scootchin' up as close az yew kan git, withowt settin' off thuh larms? I took it as the previous person trying to add a word and the next person to try and force a connection, but your way sounds like fun as wella wreath of marigolds is in the shape of a wheel
