progressive scan was first used in supermarkets to avoid the typical shopping experence of the bar code on the goods from being read incorrectly and the assistant shouting over the tannoy "till three, price check on condoms" the progressive scan works with a flux capacitor to triangulate even the most disorted bar code in a DVD the progressive scan feature "scans" the film and tells you if its worth watching or not.

I think you're confused, what you're talking about is "Repressive Scan".

no the regressive scan feature on a DVD player is when it reverts to an earlier, less developed condition or way of behaving ie when you play cd discs on it.

Finally, here’s some interesting facts about Spam

¨ Spam is consumed at the rate of 3.8 cans per second in the USA

¨ The UK and South Korea have the world’s largest market for Spam

¨ 5 billion cans would encircle the Earth 12.5 times

¨ Hawaii, Alaska, Arkansas, Texas and Alabama have the highest consumption of Spam

¨ From a historical point of view, Khrushchev once attributed Soviet victories in WW2 to Spam

¨ The brand name Spam comes from Hormel’s original name for it – Hormel’s SPiced hAM. However, once other firms started copying it, they lauched a competition to come up with a name – and Spam was born.

Now don’t you all feel better for knowing that
