from the pronto 2000 manual:

"Recharging Problems

The indicator light flashes
· Check if the contacts on the recharging dock are clean and free of
obstructions.
· Make sure the Remote Control lies properly on the dock.
· Make sure the battery pack is installed properly in your Remote Control"



so i guess what i meant to say is that it's trying to charge...........oops.

you could always try programmergeek's method and keep dropping it from "three feet onto a carpeted surface".

true about the reboot.........but there are solutions cheaper than a new remote to your choice as well.

perhaps if he were to insert a metallic pin under any two of the charging contacts on the bottom of the remote and apply 110 volts (or 220[?] in the uk)........
