Here you go. [Link: extron.com]

I still don't see 18Gbps in that spec. What am I missing?

Extron box shows 10.2Gbs.

The more I look the more I find manufacturers aren't showing the spec or you have to dig for it, sometimes coming up empty. That's a shame.

If you read through all the specs the Extron box can do 18Gbps, but requires two fiber connections.  Each one is good for about 10Gbps and states that one fiber connection can do 4k@30hz (4:4:4) but two fiber connections are required to get 4k@60Hz (4:4:4).

If I read correctly, it splits the video image in half sending each half over a separate fiber and then mentions "vertical sync lock" to make sure the image stays together.

That is correct Paul. If you want full, uncompressed, 4K signal- this is the only option I've been able to find. Pretty expensive solution to boot. Glad I don't design with my wallet!!

The challenge is finding the room/space to hold these boxes at displays and projectors.

Can you pass any brand of fiber multimode cable and then decide what kind of "fast" connectors you are going to use for termination e.g AFL, Cleerline, Leviton, e.t.c?

What are the recommended multimode cable specs to be used for video in our industry?

#1 - pretty much

#2 OM3/OM4 - both are 10gig capable, the primary difference being distance the fiber is capable of sending 10g. - 300 vs 550 meters
