Does anyone have experience pushing full bandwidth 4k over distances longer than 100ft or see anything that looks promising at the show? I've noticed a few fiber solutions in the trade magazines, but not sure how well they work and don't know anyone that's used them yet. The application is extending from Marantz AVRs to displays/projectors with distances of 80-160ft from the rack. 4K source is DirecTV and displays are higher end Samsung and Sony. Projector is Sony. I have two existing installs and one in trim-out right now where I need a solution. Cabling/fiber path at all three projects is through conduit ranging in size between 1" - 1.5". Thanks, Paul

ethereal fiber is dope but......... they should have ABSOLUTELY had a fiber connector for field terminable fiber!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a dozen jobs we have OC3 multimode fiber in that would buy these tomorrow if we could use the installed fiber. not to mention in the racks at the tv, all the slack.....

We sell a good amount of the Cleerline products.. They just introduced some more affordable fiber termination kits too.. Super easy to terminate in the field

4K source is DirecTV and displays are higher end Samsung and Sony. Projector is Sony. Since the only DirecTV 4K unit out there is the C61 Mini I would suggest if you can't find a HDMI solution that you run 2 Coax to the projector and Mount the C61 near the projector. Feed the projector with a short HDMI and then use the other coax to feed the digital audio back to the AVR.

Ok, looks like Brent is on my call list for Monday. I trust the Ethereal products, but was hoping someone would jump in with real-world experience using HDMI over fiber.
Is no one really using these products yet???

I have two rooms already setup like this while I was waiting for a solution except I'm using digital audio over CAT5 for the audio. It's only a matter of time before I need to connect other 4k sources, so i really want to get the DirecTV receivers back in the rack where they belong. It's a small thing, but both clients complain that they don't have a volume bar visible on the TV when watching DirecTV due to it being connected directly to the TV.

Cleerline field terminable fiber [Link: cleerlinefiber.com]That is the only fiber i use!!! I am talking about the ethereal velox fiber system having the ability to use other field terminable fiber! fiber you run and terminate yourself and plug into ethereals hdmi connector. it will not do that. you have to buy them in predetermined lengths!!!!

In agreement... the ideal solution would be a transmitter and receiver with fiber ports for field terminated fiber. This would allow fiber to be installed during pre-wire or pulled through conduit at trim out and then terminated to length. Additional functionality to transmit IR, Ethernet and RS-232 and digital audio would be the best possible solution. I'm not really sure what the bandwith is for OM3 Multimode fiber at what are relatively short distances (for fiber), but hopefully it's enough to allow for the transmission of the extra stuff on top of the HDMI video. This is the type of product I was hoping would appear at CEDIA this year!

Wouldn't Just Add Plower work? I don't know??? I just looked and see that they have a 4K solution, but there must be a bunch of compression going on to transmit 18Gbps of data over 1Gbps Ethernet connection. Did anyone see these in action at CEDIA?

[Link: tlnetworx.com]Looks like a neat product, but according to teh specs only supports 4K @ 30fps. The 4K DirecTV receivers require 60fps.
