I spent several hours today getting familiar with the new Crestron weather module. After several hours on the phone and farting around here in my office, I finally got it up and running.

As a test, I put in my city long and lat coordinates and changed the temp display settings to Celcius. We speak Celsius up here..btw....Turns out the temperature here in Belleville, Ontario, Canada is minus 65525 Celcius...I can hardly believe we're still alive........LMAO

What a freaking joke !!! I'm going to take a pic of the touchpanel and label it " This is how a Crestron Engineer converts Fahrenheit to Celcius"..LMAO

How long have you been programming Crestron?

Why would that matter?

I think it's a veiled way of saying you're incompetent.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

No, Crestron modules rarely work 100% as advertised. Almost as if they're either not tested at all, or tested by someone who doesnt know what faults to look for. (5/9)(F-32) is hardly a complex formula, which points me to believe that the function just wasn't tested. Par for the course.

I am curious, did the module report the correct temp in F?

Yes, the module works fine in Fahrenheit....with the exception that a couple of the weather condition graphics aren't showing in the 5 day forcast.

well...if your Farenheit temp was around 45.5 and the formula was entered in as all multiplication (5*9*45.5*32) that would just about give you that number. Seems like someone may have flubbed up the formula...

That would be about the right temp in Minnesota.

Crestron supports analog values in a simpl program from 0d to 65535d. What you are probably seeing is unformatted analog values used in the program for the Celcius temperature value.

However, no matter how you slice it, it still sounds cold!!! ;-)

I had a good chuckle about it this morning with tech support. They have to send it back to engineering for the fix. Too many Canadians are dying from the cold so it's a high priority for them in Rockleigh...LMAO

Oh, yeah, I have every right to complain -- having a flat roof, with one of the snowiest seasons on record. Now it's all dripping into our house. Yikes.
