Is that really why you moved? Because PA has no state contractors license for limited energy electrical? I was always shocked by this. If you're in PA without a license how can you work in NJ? We used to always sub out the prewires and electrical. No, i moved because of tax reasons and a few other annoying things like the alternitive minimum tax. $500 if you make 100,000 or loose 100,000. Moving to PA was the best thing i could do for myself and my company. I can work in NJ because I have an out of state contractors license and send them their sales tax check when i collect it from the client. Honestly since i moved less then 5% of my revenue comes from jersey. Since i was south of the princeton line NJ clients like a "specific" kind of integrator...i mean trunkslammer ;) my revenue comes from PA clients that have shore homes or taking care of past clients

Like most, I have lurked for a while to get a feel for the group. I own a 1-man shop and have happily for over 16 years. Could easily grow with more people but that is not my business model and won't be for the foreseeable future. I built my first set of speakers at the age of 13 and still own my original AKAI separates I bought from Crutchfield in 8th grade. I love vintage 80's gear and have several pair of original Klipsch and McIntosh pieces. I'll chime in only when I feel I have something constructive to add, otherwise know.... I am Always watching! -Chad B

My name is August and I'm a one-man IT services company that sometimes dabbles in custom installations. However, I have been an A/V and automation fanatic almost my entire life. The wide variety of information on this forum has helped my expand my knowledge as well as helped me on jobs and with personal projects. I figure it's time to join the community to gain even more insight and give back when I can.
